I have invested with Insight Group and am now increasingly worried about this scam/fraud. It seems as though the company was started by Joe Upchurch and James Rowlatt who started it up after leaving another fraudulent company Aston Lloyd after its property branch went into administration. Aston Lloyd Agri Commodities is now scamming investors who have invested in land rights in the Ukraine and in Jatropha in Indonesia. It appears as though investors in Insight Group are just about to find that the November payments for Moringa will not be paid and their money is lost. I urge any investors to post here and leave contact details. I will check this thread again and be in touch re action. |
|
|
You are right it is a massive ponsi scam, he has no money to pay the required dividend, investors will soon find out that "their land didnt do as well as expected" do not trust any crap they tell youover the phone, if you are an investor i would suggest you ask for you full dividend and the report on the land and then sell the investment if you can, once again be warned this is not going to end pretty for you investors. |
|
|
have a look at the Aston LLoyd investors group, lots of us are aware |
|
|
Thanks scaminfrormer1. Can I ask for more information, i.e. are you sure? Do you have some further knowledge of this company and the moringa project? |
|
|
I know the town where Rowlatt is. |
|
|
James Rowlatt is in Brentwood, Essex! Call the police. Merry Christmas. |
|
|
Any of you people want Bladon as well as Upchurch is in Australia? |
|
|
Does anyone have any more details on Insight Group PLC, the people involved, their whereabouts and the Moringa project? Insight have said I can go and see the plantation if I like and that all is above board... |
|
|
Joseph and Renee Upchurch are the owners based in Australian, James Rowlatt is a director based in Brentwood, Essex. The staff were unwittingly duped and had there contracts terminated on a Sunday without notice. With monies outstanding. The Moringa is due to pay in Nov and the SA division is operational. |
|
|
Thanks family guy. Is this company a scam then or do they plan on keeping their promises to investors? Did they pay back investors their money for the project in Bodrum, Turkey that fell through? What exactly happened to/at the Marbella office? |
|
|
Dont know about previous investments, but they openly discussed they were due to pay the Moringa dividend/return for November, next minute they emailed the staff over the weekend and told them that they had closed the office. Other than 1 person (I believe) nobody knew. It was sent from Australia, people there have kids etc, and were left out of work immediately with no notice whatsover, ranging from admin to sales, also they didnt pay any commissions to the sales guys who were totally left in the dark.
Look at the website for their Bio E Grass in Mozambique, those guys still have contact with the directors, one is called Greg of Platinum Associates or Partners its the details are in the brochure, he lives in Derby, you will find the address of him via companies house as it seems as he has used his residential address as his registered office.
Sorry I cant be much more help, but the SA office still seems to be trading, so I hope your investment will be returned and cotranctually fullfilled.
Get hold of there law firm that will give you the best idea, as they act for them and would not want to be associated with any wrong doing, that is if in fact there is any. |
|
|
Thanks Family Guy. Do you have more exact information on the owners and directors of Insight Group PLC - if this does turn out to be a scam then I would like to have addresses to give to the relevant authority.
Do you know who their law firm is?
If you would like to email me for a more confidential conversation the my email is [email protected]
I would be grateful for any information you could provide as this investment has all the hallmarks of a fraud and many hard working investors could be at risk of loosing all. |
|

NOTICE TO ALL INVESTORS
All investors are urged to contact Client Relations to discuss any concerns of any nature in relation to their investment.
Defamatory comments whether “anonymous” or not, are treated very seriously. Not just because it has an impact on the credibility and integrity of our company brand in which we have worked extremely hard to build, but because comments implying that we will not fulfil our obligations also hurts our investors who are reliant on buyers to purchase the biomass produced on their respective land allocations.
Scaremongering by disgruntled ex-employees should be taken with a pinch of salt. A sales office on the Costa del Sol did not form part of our 2012 Business Plan and the company feels no obligation to apologise or explain the reasoning behind it on a public forum except to point out that our priority has always been, and will always be, to keep the organisation financially strong to ensure longevity for our investors.
Essentially, the success of our projects determines the future of our company. With every decision that is made, this is always at the forefront of the minds of the Directors. We feel a deep responsibility to our investors who have placed their faith in our organisation and that of Platinum Management.
For those that are concerned and those that want to discuss their forthcoming return, please contact us directly. The Client Relations Team and company Directors will always make themselves available to our clients.
Protecting the creditability and integrity of the organisation is in the best interests of the company, its investors and its buyers. Therefore, we would encourage all investors to refrain from using public forums that are designed to instil fear and alarm.
Whilst it is not a priority for “Family Guy” and “Scaminformer1” (who are former administrative and junior sales employees) to protect your interests, it is for Insight and Platinum who are working hard on the ground in Mozambique and the Gambia to bring our clients the best possible return on their investment.
With that in mind, we would urge investors to speak with us direct and remove your posts from this forum to avoid further encouragement of defamatory comments which only bring the company’s brand into disrepute. Rest assured all clients who contact us will have the opportunity to personally speak with a Director within 2-4 business hours, 7 days per week.
Regards,
The Insight Team
(We will not provide email addresses on this forum, please visit our website to contact us directly and we will return it with a call as soon as possible.) |

NOTICE TO ALL INVESTORS
Please refer to Clause 4.3 of your Agreement for Sale and Purchase of Agricultural Use Rights in which it states that returns are paid within 4 weeks of the monies being received by the buyers.
There is no "due date" as such therefore returns are not "overdue".
One can only make projections as to when the transportation and delivery of the Moringa Oleifera seeds will be completed for our various commercial buyers based in India, Ghana and South Africa. Both Insight and the Management Company projected 30th November 2011 and we are pleased to say that 15 investors have received their returns this week. A further 25 investors will receive their returns next week. This will continue as and when the sale of each individual investors sale is deemed complete by our Lawyers and the funds clear in Platinum's account.
Once again, investors are urged to speak to the Client Relations Department; as we fail to see how an online forum will provide the answers you are looking for and it will certainly not speed up the process of receiving a first return.
Anyone using a forum to attempt to do so is only hurting their future returns as Platinum's buyers will go elsewhere, it is a free market afterall.
Furthermore, Platinum are well within their rights to review their Management Agreement with individual investors who jeopardise the relationships with the buyers that they have worked so hard to build and who directly or indirectly bring the projects and the associated companies into disrepute.
Once again, if you have a concern contact us and a Director will return your call within 2-4 business hours, 7 days per week.
Regards,
The Insight Team |

I think it appropriate to use the "little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing" here. I see comments that are based on little or no knowledge of the nature of the investments. However I'm also aware of the need to be wary of unscupulous companies enticing vulnerable investors. But let me tell you my brief story in relation to investments made with Insight Group Plc to redress the balance.
I did my due diligence in the company and the Moringa investment project in Mozambique in Q3 2010. I scrutinized it in everyway I knew I needed to. In the end we decided to make an investment in the project based on several key criteria: the investment model, the company fundamentals (registration, location, history, conversations with different management levels), ethics (this was important to us), sustainability, insurances, legal arrangements (through established UK law firm), etc, etc.
Now all investments involve "risk", but that does not mean they need to be "risky". I'm quite aware of risks involved in investments in African countries, but I'm also aware of the opportunities. Mozambique in particular and the specific location of the plantation were investigated and in the end we opted to invest. It was an informed decision.
Since then (Q4 2010) we have been kept up to date with progress including photos of the plantation taking shape through investor newsletters. Some of these are also published on Platinum's website. It's not all been smooth running but it's certainly developed more or less according to plan. e.g. there was a delay to planting of a few weeks due to heavy local rainfall in Dec 2010. But that's not unusual. Now the trees are approx 6 feet tall (average) the risks from heavy rains are diminshed.
Today I've spoken with the Associate Director in Cape Town office, as I do regularly. He's provided me with details that confirm we will receive our return within next 10 days as it has been cleared. There has been a delay but the explanations were plausible and I was kept informed throughout. I suggest other investors do the same - talk to Insight. I've never had a problem contacting them.
I'd say it's been a good investment considering the returns are double figures (interest) after first 12 months. Outlook is promising as it was a 5 year investment model with higher returns next year as the trees are now well established. Now I can't predict the future, nor can Insight nor Platinum. But I'm satisfied to have taken the decision to invest.
I will update the forum when I have received the return on investment.
Meanwhile - don't invest if you're not willing to do the necessary checks. It's not a UK high street bank savings account where you can expect returns on a regular basis. This is and investment that involves Africa, farming, bio-fuels, international trade and several companies. Things will be a little more fluid and subject to change. One's mindset needs to be congniscent of this and be prepared to do the necessary leg work to make informed decisions. Don't put down a company who, in my experience, has been very good to deal with at many levels and has contributed positively to societies where they operate. Don't panic and make knee-jerk compaints. Protect yourself with well researched knowledge and direct and open communications.
Regards

It seems that this site only invites complaints. I have two. Only a couple of months ago I offered Insight PLC £100000 to buy up more of their moringa project in Mozambique but was refused because the project had apparently entirely sold out. I have also not received an invoice from them for their trade fee payment which was due to be paid by me on the first of November according to my contract. This was for the Mozambique project I bought into earlier this year. Now, what scam company turns money down and is tardy asking for the money it is due?
I have checked with Currency Index who have confirmed at least three invesors had been paid by Insight with more in the pipe line. That was last week.
I am now buying into their moringa project in Gambia, but if anyone wishes to sell me their holding in Mozambique I will gladly buy it from them at cost price. Just phone Insight Group and tell them you wish to sell as I will be notifying them of my wish to buy.

Yesterday we received formal "2011 Harvest Notification" from Platinum Management that provided details about:
- The Plantation
- The Harvest
- The Results and
- Our Returns based on our specific investments (including plot references of land leased, for which we were provided with the deeds early this year).
Furthermore our business bank details were confirmed accurately. We are to receive our ROI within 10 working days from date of the letter (9th Dec). So we expect payment just before XMas. I'll confirm when we receive this payment.
Sorry Wanabuy, we don't want to sell. It's definitely an investment we wish to hold. |
