Italian Guy Giovanni, Emporior Armani, EA Collection leather Jackets Italian Guy Who Asks for direction to Lincoln Tunnels with New Jersey Plate Numbe
10th of Oct, 2011 by User216484
An Italian guy driving a white Jeep with New Jersey plate number asked me for direction to Lincoln tunnel on the corner of fifth Avenue and 26th street on 10/10/2011. After that he told me he would give me a gift of three Armani Jackets as he need to fly to return back to Italy that night. He works for Giorgio Armani in Italy and his money was stolen at the club and he need to pay for the rental car when he gets to Airport. He showed me his passport and ticket say that to give him $500 to cover his cost and will give me the 3 jackets. I told him i don't have any cash and felt sad that he acted so distress so i told him, i can go home since i don't live far and i can scrap to give you $250 and when you get to Italy call me so we can find a rightful buyer for your jackets since i wouldn't like to rip anyone off just b'se he has lost his money. I was actually thinking of giving him the money without taking his jackets, but he insisted that he will have to pay taxes if he take the jackets back to Italy. I began to be suscpicious as he was changing his stories from working for Gorgio Armani to a businessman. But i was determine to help the guy, So I gave him $260 and there he goes. Fortunately, he is on my building camera from the point he came into the building, inside Elevator and leave the house. After he left I went online to see if he is not a scam Artist. I could not believe reading the same story from other people who came across this guy. The question is, should i report this guy as he is clearly captured in our building camera and probably he is a known scam artist and deserve to be in NY1. He takes advantage of people good faith for his greedy and selfishness. Not knowing that that is not a way to make a living, scaming people.

BEWARE he is in the San Diego Area. Same Story!!! Same bullshit!!! Nothing much we can do but spread the word, hopefully one day he will pay for his wrong doing. I called the police to find out what the protocol was on scams such like this one. I was told the police can’t get involve as it is a civil Issue not a crime do to the fact that we are in an agreement of some sort! So if he ever gets caught it will just be a slap in the wrist. Pisses me off!!! If someone comes across him, please give him the beating he deserves and take his money.

Same phony Italian guy came by today trying to sell his fake leather jackets in the Fresno, CA area today. He drove a white newer jeep Cherokee. He had the look and smell of a hustler trying to get rid of some made in china jackets. WATCH OUT PEOPLE OF FRESNO. This guys is approaching businesses and all people trying to sell jackets called "Last Collection" Italy. One of the jackets have buttons, the other is a zip up.

He also have the same story of paying taxes on the jackets once he goes home to Italy. If you see him, don't buy anything but please take pictures of him, his car and the jackets. He needs to see Bubba in jail.

WOW, this guy really gets around! I saw him in Woodbridge, ON (subburb of Toronto, Canada) asking for directions to the airport because he had to fly back to Milano. Came in a Chrysler 300C (ontario license BJFN 981)which he showed me the rental agreement (however, not from the airport, but a local car rental place in Mississauga). He is in his 50s, well dress, and clean shaven. However, he didn't seem to know Woodbridge is an Italian enclave, meaning I had no problem getting a translator so he couldn't hide behind his poor English that got worst when I poked him for his identity. when he left, he headed away from the airport. I got a picture of him, if any of you want to share.

Yep...NOTE FOR NOTE, same story about gifts, directions to airport, rental car, gift, etc... "GIOVANI" was in New Braunfels (just outside of San Antonio) in late Feb 2012. I paid $45 for one. He put a lighter to it "to prove" that it was REAL leather. He says real leather won't burn. Not sure what to think now. I guess it's obvious the jacket is NOT ARMANI, but I guess it is at least real leather, huh??? I'm not sure.

I was on my way to get a haircut, while walking in a Metro parking lot when this man in a black SUV called my attention. He said being lost and is in a hurry to get to the airport to catch his flight to Italy. I told him to take highway 403 and he even asked me if its east or west (I told him east). He even showed me an e-ticket of his flight, all I saw was AlItalia and his departure time. Then he get off his car and asked me some questions which made me suspicious, like what my job was (I told him I'm doing things here and there, not really an exact answer) then he asked me what my t-shirt size was. Then he said having jackets that he can't bring to Italy. From that point I knew something's not in place here. So I told him to get lost. Then he showed me that he has money (lot's of it actually, in 20 Canadian dollar bills, probably around 800-1000). I don't know why he showed me the money. Anyways, I walked away and I saw him sped off going to the direction of Hurontario. I think all the cash he showed me were from people he scammed that day.

For anyone in the Scarborough/Toronto area:

White Toyota Rav4 Ontario Plate#BLNW598 (prolly a rental/stolen/fake but worth a shot)

Normal build 30's white guy with brown/black hair

Conned 4 fake Armani jackets for $300, made my old man go to the bank to get the money.
Started off with the pick-up line about directions to the airport.
I really wish I could have realized what was going on and stopped this sooner.

Some fucking idiot approached me in Edmonton Alberta saying the same thing. Emporio Armani leather jackets. He lit one of them with a lighter and said the quality was great. Stupid me, I should have told him to fuck off. I got 3 jackets for 300, but if i see one of these guys again, I'm going to destroy him before I take my money back. I guess 3 jackets for 100 each isn't bad.

There's an army of these Italian guys. My guy was in Santa Monica, CA. I was getting into my car when he stopped his Rental SUV in the street and asked directions. I gave him directions in Italian and we "bonded". He pulled out of traffic and we chatted and exchanged business cards. He wanted to give me some clothes he didn't want to lug back to Italy and pay taxes on. No thanks, I said, just write me when you're back in Italy and if you still want to do something nice, buy me a gelato if I'm ever in Milan. Ha, he still got me by insisting and insisting. I asked why his company would make him take goods back to Italy, making him pay the duty. He acted like he didn't follow., etc. etc. He wanted to give me three jackets of different, cust/materials as a gift, and one for my wife, which maybe I could give him a little cash for - as he needs cash for the airports, etc. I finally relented, and gave him sixty bucks, which he seemed put out by the . I showed him I only had ones and fives left. I refused to get more cash. I guess he decided to take the sixty rather than press it and went back to his car., Imemorized his his license plate and wrote it down. I went to my office, brought the jackets in hoping they were really good knockoffs, but alas they reek of cheap vinyl. I gave the police his license plate, told them it was probably a rental. They seemed about as disinterested as anyone could be. I looked this up and yeah, they're everywhere. He was Italian though, he was fluent in Italian, and knew where little towns were that only an Italian would. Damn it, learning languages has made me a dupe. The jackets look nice, but they're vinyl and probably worth $40 all together at best,

Just been taken by someone for this same scam. 3 Jackets for $600. I offered $200. He offered 2 for 2 hundred. Took him down to one for $60. Wish I hadn't bothered. It's supposed to be suede. It's polyester!

Happened on 4th St, near Ocean Drive, Miami. He wore blue shirt, cream trousers, fancy shoes and glasses. Has blue eyes. Drove a grey car. Even showed me his rental agreement. Went to the bank with him so he should be on camera and I gave him a glass of water so his fingerprints can be collected. I'm vacationing in the US so not sure what I can do about it or if I should so anything.
