Italian Guy Giovanni, Emporior Armani, EA Collection leather Jackets Italian Guy Who Asks for direction to Lincoln Tunnels with New Jersey Plate Numbe
10th of Oct, 2011 by User216484
An Italian guy driving a white Jeep with New Jersey plate number asked me for direction to Lincoln tunnel on the corner of fifth Avenue and 26th street on 10/10/2011. After that he told me he would give me a gift of three Armani Jackets as he need to fly to return back to Italy that night. He works for Giorgio Armani in Italy and his money was stolen at the club and he need to pay for the rental car when he gets to Airport. He showed me his passport and ticket say that to give him $500 to cover his cost and will give me the 3 jackets. I told him i don't have any cash and felt sad that he acted so distress so i told him, i can go home since i don't live far and i can scrap to give you $250 and when you get to Italy call me so we can find a rightful buyer for your jackets since i wouldn't like to rip anyone off just b'se he has lost his money. I was actually thinking of giving him the money without taking his jackets, but he insisted that he will have to pay taxes if he take the jackets back to Italy. I began to be suscpicious as he was changing his stories from working for Gorgio Armani to a businessman. But i was determine to help the guy, So I gave him $260 and there he goes. Fortunately, he is on my building camera from the point he came into the building, inside Elevator and leave the house. After he left I went online to see if he is not a scam Artist. I could not believe reading the same story from other people who came across this guy. The question is, should i report this guy as he is clearly captured in our building camera and probably he is a known scam artist and deserve to be in NY1. He takes advantage of people good faith for his greedy and selfishness. Not knowing that that is not a way to make a living, scaming people.

Same story here in Sacramento of all places. I'm walking at lunch ironically to the bank when this slickster "Italian" pulls up wanting to show me jackets, says he's headed for the airport back home to Milan after doing a fashion show in town. I say "oh Milan, " and I never pass up an opportunity to talk soccer. He says he's so glad his team won yesterday. I think to myself wait a minute, Milan played last week? Should've been the clue to walk away, but he keeps giving me the story. He has 8 coats he doesn't want to bring through customs because of taxes. He shows me his wares labeled "Armani", all nicely wrapped in plastic that say "Armani", labels that say "made in Italy." He says $600, I say $200, he says fine $200, I say $100. He says take four of them then, sure no proplem. So, for $25 bucks a pop, there's one that I'll keep and three birthday presents. I'm sure I'd be more pissed if it was for what some people paid here, I feel your pain. But I got a kick out of it and 4 plastic smelling "leather" jackets.

Probably not the same guy everyone is talking about but same MO in Bakersfield, California. Some guy in a black Mazda CX7 pulls up at an ARCO (ironically, a Maserati is what separated our two vehicles). Before parking, he was at a dead stop in the middle of the gas station with this bewildered look on his face while people fought for parking and gas spots. I got out to get something to eat when he called me over. Asked me if I spoke italian, french, spanish (i do), etc. Started telling me it was some miracle of God that I bumped into him that he began telling me about a flight at LAX leaving in a few hours and jackets and taxes and the whole 9 yards. Presented a european passport, plane ticket, Hertz paperwork, etc. I would've still been skeptical even with all of this "evidence" in my face, but the one thing that sold me was the fact that he knew about Guatemala. That's where my family is from and once I told him that he started saying a few slang words and telling me how he has many shops over there since he had lived there for 3 years. He knew cities, he knew the location of my certain state, he even showed me customs passport stamps from over there. He showed me 6 jackets and said he wanted $500 for them. He did some lighter test on the jackets to prove they were good material. He showed me a big wad of cash to prove that he wasn't in it for the money but just to give a good hispanic person a good deal since he "hated working with gringos". Because of my upbringing, I don't really know much about designer labels and such; the most expensive piece of clothing I own besides a suit would be a Hollister sweater. I can talk to you about cars, computers, and guitars all day, but clothes, go ask someone else. He said Armani and flashed a few labels and that was it. In the end he drove me to the bank (YES HE DROVE ME THERE) and I got the 6 jackets for $300. Looking back, there were many things that were so obvious that something was up with this guy, mainly the fact that this italian fashion man couldn't tie a tie worth a fuck. I got home, googled "Emporio Collezione" and found this scan and all of its details. That was a few days ago. I saw the guy driving the exact same car over a freeway overpass and he tried to hide himself by laying down over the passenger's seat, but I saw the bastard. Busted a U-turn but he was gone by the time I got to where I saw him. I see him again, there'll be hell to pay (assault is only a misdemeanor charge, no big deal).

He was in Vegas!! I believe it was Feb 29th. Same story. Italian accent. Rental car, but this time it was some sort of suv. Ask for directions to the airport. Offered the jackets. Refused to give $700 for 3 jackets, but got suckered into $250 for 3 jackets. Gave me his number to call him in Italy. Drove off. Damn...

Last Sunday, March 4th, I was walking uptown toward the hospital where my mother stayed. I was around 2 ave and 66 street when this 2012 Mazda CX7 pulled up. A guy with Italian accent reached out to me for direction. I get people ask me for direction all the time, I guess I look like a smart nice guy. He addressed him self as Giovanni Fransce, showed me his Italian passport and ask me for direction to the Italian Embassy. I told him its on 619 Park Ave but he quickly said it is closed. I told him a Gov't agency closes on the weekend. He said he represents Armani and he is a top designer. He said he was featured on this month Vogue magazine. Apparently he is here for an EXPO. I happen to be in the import/export business so I know the goods he brought him are duty free and consider temporary inbound. When the expo is over, the goods must be returned back to origin. So he said he got drunk after the Expo and lost $25, 000, as well as the import docs. He is afraid the US Custom will charge him duty upon returning to Italy that his flight was Sunday night. Already his story sounded off but when I he offered me the jackets, I was thrilled. He had about 3 bags with 4 leather jackets/coats by Armani inside. He said he design so he is willing to give them to me, that's about $400x4. Then I received the catch. He said I need to help return his NATIONAL RENTAL CX7 back to the airport for $970. He said his father is Francisco Fransce who is an Italian diplomat. So I asked him if his father is a diplomat, why doesn't he call the UN. He said UN is closed on weekend, hee hee, that's bullshit, he gave away his scam. So I said let me make a call to verify his father, then he said no need because he does not need publicity. So I turned him and smile, said, "if I'm a dreamer then I would probably help him in exchance for the jackets. but i was taught to work hard and no such thing as money from the sky". So I said no, and he was calm and shook my hand for the good faith I lent. I guess I played this scam well and did not fall for the trap. But the whole situation was so dramatic, like a movie. I hope everyone be careful out there.

He is branching out - Toronto March 2012 Somewhat upscale small shopping plaza. Black SUV "I'm lost can you direct me to the airport?". Coming from an Armani show in downtown. Maxed-out credit card, wants to take gift back to Italy for daughter. Has Jackets given to him for his o/s'g presentation. etc. etc. as previous comments.
His name Salvatore (so what) a diminutive fellow very personable - Italian accent and an apparent lack of vocabulary. Where are you from? --Milan- good answer, it is the fashion capital of Italy etc. Much of the same delivery as the ones above. Must have taken the same correspondence course as the New York fellow. One Jacket $80.00. Fort once my guard was down. My head is soar banging it against the wall.

Yesterday, April 3rd, 2012 Hoboken, NJ at 2:00 pm. I was stopped in front of my building on Grand Street in Hoboken by a man with an Italian accent asking for directions to Newark Airport. He was driving a white Chevoret SUV. He then insisted on giving me a brand new lether jacket. We talked and he raised his offer to 8 leather jackets. Very nice looking like and Armani Exchange knock off. He gave me his business card Armani Collezzioni, email [email protected], tel no 339-337-6289, City Milano Italy. He then showed me his car rental bill and said he lost all his money in Atlantic City and needed money to pay $659.00 for the car rental. I told him I didn't want the jackets. He insisted and I offered him $100. He talked me up to $300. He left, but I think the 8 jackets are worth $300 or $37.50 each. Since this incident happened in Las Vagas at the same time this scam must have several members working behind it.

Lost tourist, story this guy was good, he deserve as Academy award for his acting skills. Dark SUV Texas license plates, said he was lost and needed directions to DFW airport, 121. Texasan are friendly and helpful. I was on my way to Walmart so I said follow me. Got to intersection and ramp, bye the way earlier he said not not leave him, that should have been a clue. Well when we got to the entrance ramp for 121 this guy start with this song and about you are such a nice person I want to give you these coats for being so kind, when I saw the jackets and the business card about Armani, I was hook, fish on line, hook. Then he give me this sad story about having to travel back Italy with all the Armani jackets through Customs. But that his Daughter wanted an Ipod or camera for $400 or $500. I did not have that amount of cash on me and told his so. How much do you have and I throw in an additional jacket for your Dad. 4 Armani jackets for $400, I only got about two hundred . I was already at walmart, he wanted to go to my bank, noway that was going down so I took out $200.00 and thought I got a deal. When I got home I look up Armani jackets and they going from$330, $700, $10000. Fish on the line.

April 13, 2012 around 6:30pm i got stopped by a "Giovanni" on 25th st between 7th ave and 8th ave talking the same bullshit story he told to others needed directions to Newark so i tried to help then came down to the jackets but fortunatly he didnt get me because i got scammed before and i dont trust anyone that tried to sell on the streets. So i told him i only had $20 and walked away but i was only walking up the block to pick up my car and as im walking i searched EA Collestion because it seemed weird to me. So as im driving down 25th street, sure enough he stopped another guy and i couldnt help but to stop and face him, lucky i didnt break his face but he ran so quick. So i explained to the guy that he stopped that he was a scammer and he was glad that i stopped it. He took a picture of his license plate, he was driving a silver Buick SUV with Rhode Island plates. These guys need to be stopped!
