Italian Guy Giovanni, Emporior Armani, EA Collection leather Jackets Italian Guy Who Asks for direction to Lincoln Tunnels with New Jersey Plate Numbe |
10th of Oct, 2011 by User216484 |
An Italian guy driving a white Jeep with New Jersey plate number asked me for direction to Lincoln tunnel on the corner of fifth Avenue and 26th street on 10/10/2011. After that he told me he would give me a gift of three Armani Jackets as he need to fly to return back to Italy that night. He works for Giorgio Armani in Italy and his money was stolen at the club and he need to pay for the rental car when he gets to Airport. He showed me his passport and ticket say that to give him $500 to cover his cost and will give me the 3 jackets. I told him i don't have any cash and felt sad that he acted so distress so i told him, i can go home since i don't live far and i can scrap to give you $250 and when you get to Italy call me so we can find a rightful buyer for your jackets since i wouldn't like to rip anyone off just b'se he has lost his money. I was actually thinking of giving him the money without taking his jackets, but he insisted that he will have to pay taxes if he take the jackets back to Italy. I began to be suscpicious as he was changing his stories from working for Gorgio Armani to a businessman. But i was determine to help the guy, So I gave him $260 and there he goes. Fortunately, he is on my building camera from the point he came into the building, inside Elevator and leave the house. After he left I went online to see if he is not a scam Artist. I could not believe reading the same story from other people who came across this guy. The question is, should i report this guy as he is clearly captured in our building camera and probably he is a known scam artist and deserve to be in NY1. He takes advantage of people good faith for his greedy and selfishness. Not knowing that that is not a way to make a living, scaming people. |

LOL ...too bad my brother didn't know anything untill he saw this and called me !!! |

Same story. 49th&7th in NYC today. Scrawny guy in mid to late 20's. 3 jackets for$200. Sounds like a massive operation - not just one guy. Gonna try donating the jackets for a tax write-off. |

An Italian guy showed up in front of my mother’s house and started offering the same jackets, the brand was EA Italy. He said the same story everybody is commenting. That he was going back to Italy and he was here on business and he preferred to sell them low as a gift, instead of taking them back and pay for duties. He said that if I pay for 1 of them I could have all 6. I asked him how much and he said $360, I told him there was no way I was going to pay that amount. After negotiating back and forth he lowered it to $180 for all 6. I went inside the house to get the money and my mom told me to be careful so that’s when I said to my self “I should look into this a little further”. I grabbed my cell phone and Google “EA Italy jackets” and I was surprised that the 3rd result was this very website and even his name came up.“Giovanni”.
I told the guy: no, thank you. He didn’t like it at all and went into his car mumbling something in Italian.
I’m glad I listened to my mother and I’m glad people had posted this information. I hope this helps other people not fall into his trap.
Some details:
This was in Miami Gardens, Florida.
He said his name was Giovanni, he says he’s 50 years old. He’s full of gray hair kind of long.
He was driving a brand new black Cadillac SRX Crossover, he claimed it was rented. |

Watch out this is happening again. This time here in south Jersey LOOK OUT FOR A GREY VAN ITALIAN GUY THAT SPEAKS NO ENGLISH. He says they are 60.00 jackets he will sell for 30.00 he has the last four and he has to go back to Italy he will sell all fore 150.00. He also says just had a show in Atlantic City and this is what is left. |

Hey! He is in Albany ny area now. I think the leather jacket is fake but I got 4 of them and four shirts for $200 |

I think I may have just ran into this guy here in Kansas City, older italian guy driving a black suv with Colorado tags, pulled up on me while I was sweeping outside of my barbershop. Showed me a catalog with the jackets being priced at around $900, told me he was flying back to Italy tomorrow and had a weight limit on the plane so he was looking to get rid of everything he could. Said he's an Italian designer and just did a show downtown. I gave him $135 he gave me two jackets and drove off. The jackets are nice but now I'm thinking I should've kept my money instead. |

How are you people so gullible? Who actually wants to buy jackets from some dude? |

10/19/12 He is in Santa Ana, CA now. Giovani, from Italy. Driving a red Jeep with bird shit on the car. Wearing black rimmed glasses. Young guy, very friendly. Said he works for Armani, even had business cards. I wonder if his this Italian accent is fake. He initially asked for directions to John Wayne Airport, then he wanted to sell me his watches. He was not selling jackets. He was selling Emporio Armani watches this time. Wanted $450 for a bag full of 6 watches. I told him I'm not in the market for a watch and certainly don't have $450. Rubber strap on the watch is the same material they use to make those lame rubber wristbands that say "Livestrong" and stuff. Buttons on the watch don't even work. Fake wood box looked legit, with stitched vinyl (to look like leather) -- E A Orologia, Moda Italia. Guarantee card on the box, vinyl inside the box felt like leather too. This guy was very nerdy/goofy. I'd like to see a YouTube video of him getting his ass kicked and robbed. |

10/20/12 Costa Mesa, Same guy with the same story driving the same red Jeep. |
|
|
Wow, same thing just happened to me today in Manhattan, NYC. There's got to be more than 1 guy out there doing this. |

I just ran into this guy myself not an hour ago. Same story, he was lost trying to get to the lincoln tunnel to get to newark airport and didnt wanna pay the tax or whatever. I thought it seemed suspect but they where nice coats and I got 3 of them for $150. They're knock offs, big deal. People buy that shit on purpose all the time. I'm sure you can get rid of them. It's a pretty good hustle this guy has got going on, you know nice guy and you feel bad for him and shit. Real smooth. He's good, I can't really be that mad hahaha. Actually the only thing I'm mad about is I didn't get to have sex w/ that chick!! Now that's a rip off!!! |
|
|
Actually now that I look at these coats again they look like cheap bs. I should have paid better attention cuz they stink like vinyl. I was on my way home from work and tired. Yeah I feel pretty stupid. what can you do. Throw the guy a beating if you happen to see him again. Actually this happened to me a couple years ago and when the guy started going on about the coats I told him to get lost. I don't know what I was thinking today I guess I was just stuck on stupid lol. |

Wow! What a world we live in. I met a similar guy with this Italy accent and telling me same story as above here. He offered to give me all four Jackets for $500. He even lighted a lighter and brought it closer to one leather jacket to indicate de quality. When i told him i dont have that much on me, he asked how much i have and i told him $150 but will need to get de extra $50 in de store from my scratch ticket. He accepted to wait and i came and decided to giv him $100, but he said no den later said he will giv me just two of de jackets. I asked, I thought he said he is giving all de four out cos of duties at de airport. Then he started insulting and swearing in Spanish, i understand little spanish.
He later gave me all de four for $100, i think thats not bad but we gotta watch out for these fraudsters and report them asap. |

Oct-26-2012. He is in Edison, NJ now targeting most crowded places like Costco. I hope its better to check any item brand reviews on internet before buying from anywhere or anyone. |
|

October 31, mostly trick with little treat. He seems to have abandoned NJ and has just turned up in Calgary, Alberta Canada at Southcentre Mall. Same story as above, needing to get to the airport and would have to pay taxes on his stuff. Very strong Italian accent and driving a nice Volvo XC. Told him I wasn't interested. Off he went and not in the direction I had pointed him to the airport. Oh well. |
|
|
Watch out for this guy. He uses a Volkswagon SUV. Plate is from NJ. I saw him today in Asian Food Market. Same story. He wants to go to Italy and also shows the passport. This guy scams. Be careful because he wants to sell 6 jackets for $480 and he is currently scamming in the Edison area of NJ. He looks like a nice guy and needs help but it is just a SCAM. |
