Italian Guy Giovanni, Emporior Armani, EA Collection leather Jackets Italian Guy Who Asks for direction to Lincoln Tunnels with New Jersey Plate Numbe |
10th of Oct, 2011 by User216484 |
An Italian guy driving a white Jeep with New Jersey plate number asked me for direction to Lincoln tunnel on the corner of fifth Avenue and 26th street on 10/10/2011. After that he told me he would give me a gift of three Armani Jackets as he need to fly to return back to Italy that night. He works for Giorgio Armani in Italy and his money was stolen at the club and he need to pay for the rental car when he gets to Airport. He showed me his passport and ticket say that to give him $500 to cover his cost and will give me the 3 jackets. I told him i don't have any cash and felt sad that he acted so distress so i told him, i can go home since i don't live far and i can scrap to give you $250 and when you get to Italy call me so we can find a rightful buyer for your jackets since i wouldn't like to rip anyone off just b'se he has lost his money. I was actually thinking of giving him the money without taking his jackets, but he insisted that he will have to pay taxes if he take the jackets back to Italy. I began to be suscpicious as he was changing his stories from working for Gorgio Armani to a businessman. But i was determine to help the guy, So I gave him $260 and there he goes. Fortunately, he is on my building camera from the point he came into the building, inside Elevator and leave the house. After he left I went online to see if he is not a scam Artist. I could not believe reading the same story from other people who came across this guy. The question is, should i report this guy as he is clearly captured in our building camera and probably he is a known scam artist and deserve to be in NY1. He takes advantage of people good faith for his greedy and selfishness. Not knowing that that is not a way to make a living, scaming people. |

April 26, 2012, about 2pm "Salvatore" stopped my husband in Studio City, CA. at the Vineland and Moorpark laundromat. Wish he'd seen these reports before he got taken for $300. Same story. Guy was 5'7", balding, dark hair, in rented gray BMW or Lexus SUV. Passport, airline tickets, business cards, the whole thing. For the life of me I have no idea while he fell for this BS. The jackets are clearly pleather and reek of chemical smells. If I see him I'll beat the $#I+ out of him!!! The scammer, not my husband ; ) |

April 26, 2012, 2pm. "Salvatore" got my husband for $300 in Studio City, CA. Corner of Moorpark and Vineland at the laundromat. Guy was 5'7", dark hair, balding, had the passport/airline tickets, etc.whole nine yards. I have NO idea how my husband fell for this. The jackets are clearly pleather and mediocre quality. They also stink to high heaven - they reek of chemicals! *sigh*.
If I see this guy, he'll be lucky I don't beat the $#!+ out of him!!! The scammer, not my husband. ; ) |

That's so crazy!!! I just gave this guy $120 for three black jackets, he taps me the same story... What gets me sooo mad is that I felt bad only giving him $120 . He sounds like a really nice guy, I encountered him in panorama city out side the mall in California . I went back to look for him but the lucky Giovanni wasn't there . I said lucky cause when I find him and I will, I will leave him with nothing . |

Same thing happens with my husband few days back, one italian guy came with 6 jackets with him and was telling the same story and selling all six jackets by showing his passport and ticket to move to italy and bla bla bla...offfffffffffffff. This is really very bad and he took $240 by selling all six jackets to my husband.
Was just trying to find the company name written on jacket in internet and came to know this.It was EA collection italy style last collection.
This area is near Brampton, Canada, Ontario. Really painful.

This is crazy, I was walking through downtown Montreal, McGill ghetto, a dude with accent in a white SUV said he's from Italy, was here for a business trip, and asked me for directions to the airport. Afterward, he claimed that he has to ship a bunch of Armani goods to London but that would cost him over $1000.00, so he was offering me the stuff for free. I felt he was fishy so just politely refused him. |

May 2012 - This guy stopped me a few days ago in NYC on 41st & Lexington and as soon as he started to say Lincoln Tunnel I knew what the story was and just walked away.
This has happened to me a few times over the past few years. Not sure if it's the same guy but the M.O. is always the same - small SUV with out of state license plates, asks for directions to the Lincoln Tunnel, Italian accent, then the suits. I always just walk away. I have never seen the "girlfriend" though.
Someone needs to come up with a clever way to get this/these guy/s. Slash their tires, throw a bucket of paint on their windshield, tell the "girlfriend" that you are interested in a massage and have her unknowingly meet you at a police station. |

This guy showed up in Montreal asking for directions to the air port. He was driving a white jeep Grand Cherokee. Went by the name of Pasquale. Claimed he did not want to pay the taxes on the 3 jackets, and wanted a some money to pay his car rental. He showed his passport, was reading a map when I saw him, story was convincing until I asked more questions. I became very suspicious when story didn't make sense (i.e. I suggested ripping the tags off and putting in his luggage, and he refused) I got his rental car plate, passport number, business card (most likely fake), and the rental car Id transaction number with Alamo. I notified the Montreal police, the took the info I doubt they will follow up. |

Same sad story. Italian guy, called himself "Domenico", 50-60 years old, grey hair in a cheap suit and dark grey 2012 jeep grand cherokee. This was in Burlington, Ontario. He drove into the parking lot of a strip mall and approached us. Gave him $220 out of pity, and he insisted we take 3 of his "Armani" jackets. Quite the scoundrel. Will give the jackets to the needy, hopefully some good can come of it.
I suspect this is a group of Italians operating throughout the US and Canada, from the descriptions given. I wonder if it has anything to do with the Euro economy, nonetheless these are still crimes of fraud. Probably worthwhile to report and prevent more people from being scammed. |

Wtf I think I came across this Guy but gave me a different name "Salvadortre " I'm in Compton CA. And he told me the same story...needed to go back to Italy after a fashion show in Santa Monica..he offered me 5 jackets for $400 3 of them were Armani n 2 were E.A Collection...told him I didn't have the cash..I was going to call a few friends n he insisted I didn't...saw suspicions so I gave him 50 bucks take it or leave it for an E.A Collection jacket...so watch out he is in Cali...driving a blue Ford escape..hope I didn't pay too much I'm trying to look up the jacke t I bought but not sure where to go. |
