Real Van Lines Real Movers LLC Willful Misrepresentation, attempt to extort Birmingham, Alabama |

Without embellishment the basic facts of my situation are that this particular company was contacted and asked specifically if they were able to negotiate a long distance move in which we, the customer, would not be present at the actual pick up of the physical property (as we were already in the destination state of MN). We were told yes, this would not present a problem; the moving company would accept via credit card a deposit for securing the move date, and then once the property was loaded, also accept the contracted 60% required payment via credit card. Although we provided the necessary credit card information the moving company in question did not run the charge and neglected to respond to inquiries made. We eventually received a letter from the company instructing that as we did not pay were now responsible for exorbitant storage fees and that unless we pay the entire contract amount plus said fees in cash or certified funds our belongings would not be transported at all. We were also provided no assurances that once we met these uncompromising demands that the delivery would actually be made and arrive intact and unharmed. We have offered to pay in full immediately but by credit card or debit card as some form of security in such an event that the delivery was not made, however Mr. Feinstein refuses to consider this compromise or act of good faith; he insists that he will accept cash only. Calls made to the company only ignited more fear and concern as they were ignored or addressed in such a manner it was apparent that we were not dealing with a professional entity or individuals. In essence we were and are being extorted. Currently we are in the process of filing fraud reports with the home counties of Real Movers, LLC as noted by secretary of state addresses provided for both Georgia and Alabama. However, outside the scope of the detective investigation, our cursory research alone has realized a frightening pattern set by this particular individual. While tremendously uncomfortable and embarrassing it is my own burden to admit that our ignorance of the system and lack of prior research has contributed to our present circumstances. This brings me to placing the matter before each of you; who else is responsible and accountable for allowing this person/company, and the many others like him/them, to time and time again victimize the public at large? I have consulted several consumer protection attorney's in Atlanta and am still researching my options with them however I have been advised by each one that I can file complaints with the Geogia Consumer Affairs ( ). It is very possible that this company is violation of the Fair Business Practices Act. I have filed a report but it is recommended that all others with a complaint do so as well. I urge all of you have recetly filed a complait here to do so. Our individual voices may not make a loud sound but cretainly our collective ones should. If I do not get my belongings back I want to be assured that I do not become just another cautionary tale. I want to see this unscrupulous man and his business shut down. |
