cdmt southeast talent search they promised services and don't delivered mount pleasant, South Carolina

ok first you are chossen the moment you walk thru the door, they just ask you for money for participating on this talent show that if you do not participate you will have no expossure. this will be fine if at least if you didn't participate on their little charade they actually work with you to get you some casting calls, but they don't. the way they make their money is to make you participate on this talent search wich you have to pay in advance (almost $2,000.00, they tell you it is better if you take some trainning that they provide for the cheap amount of $150 each. wich it is really cheaper than other places but also as bad trainig as the worst. then they suggest you bring some pictures wich even if they are professional pictures they make you take more to do your compcard that they have this great place that make them really cheap. $150.00 more. Then when you go to the talent search you have to pay for hair and make up wich is not bad at $20.00 but you have to pay for your hotel and food. now again this will be fine if you get real exposure but then after 2 days of long lasting dull stuff and presentations in front of this supose agents you have your interviews. then for some reason even if the agents tell you to call them you have to wait until the agency contacts the agents wich never happens. they also make you sign this paper that if you get any jobs by yourself in the next 2 years you have to tell them because they are your agent.
now they came up with this self exposure thing that you pay $39.00 to be in 1-800-casting or something but it is like a lot of the free sites that you put your pictures and nothing happens.
if you have extra money and want to spend it on nothing go ahead and call cory or rebecca at cdmt.
by the way cory refuting this is not good when you are the owner of the company talking like you are a client.

First of all, 800 casting does work I have had several auditions due to it. Second of all yes there are some cost involved, I have had a run in this industry before, more so in the acting field. Seven or so years ago i paid all my poor college boy money, to get about 5-6 black and white 8 by 10 black and white headshots done. I didn't know any better. I was contacted by an agent who "loved them" and he charged me about 50.00 bucks for a damn Resume sample packet, CDMT hands those out like candy because they want their clients to look professional. ANyways all I ever got from this anonymous agent was a weekly email about "BIG FLY BY NIGHT BECOME A STAR IN ONE WEEKEND" convention invites. This time around older and wiser I am going with Legit profesionals at CDMT, and it's no big ass secret there are costs its not like they hide it from you. But there is such a thing is having initative and doing things on your own like making your own damn Headshot cards, print them out yourself, just make sure you don't go to staples because their toner sucks. But as long as you go by the format that the awesome team at CDMT educates you on FREE OF CHARGE, they are not going to shit can it. All I'm saying is it's not for everyone, but it's definatley not a big scam like all these negative nancy's are saying. DO your research and make your own choice.

Oh and one more thing, "you are chosen the moment you walk in", out of your whole entire rant this is the one thing that bothers me the most. I'll say that is absolutley false, BUT every one who walks through that door is given equal chances to perform and bring their talent. If Cory sees anything any potential in that person- yes then you are accepted or "chosen" but once again what you make of it is really up to you. I have seen first hand the outstanding work these guys do with kids, todlers, teens, and even gentlemen like myself who posses talent but just need a little confidence, a little training, and practice. Thank you and goodnight!

well good for you if it worked...oh hold on you haven't done it through them and I have and I can tell you that I would not mind putting some money on something I love but what they did was get my money and never...NEVER...NEVER call you back about absolutely any job, any audition or any casting. If they are an agency, isn't that what they are supposed to do, get you some work or at least some opportunities to do some work. It does depends on the talent to impress the client but how can you impress when you don't get any castings?

and you are true, not everyone is chosen...but everyone is pitched the same.

and by the way they will not take your comp cards or your pictures .I gave them a dvd with pics taken by a proffessional photographer, which I never got back, and none of the pictures were good enough so I was advised by Cory to do a session with CDMT's photographer because it was cheaper.
