Understanding The Customers, working for the company was the worst experience of my life also, the company holds no value for customer or employee at all. It was the most dis-organized company I have even seen from the owner Bill to his fat ass lazy General Manager Angie who has been with the company for a good part of 20 years, all I had ever seen her do is sit at a computer and eat. My position was warehouse, though they made me do occasional driver to pickup and deliver as well a some Quality Control. The company scalps out all its work to the low ball guys who do the wood and fabic, the QC is basically no more then a look and name process from a guy named Sal walking around with a headset listening to rap, with no cleaning, or anything but covering the dirt and any problems with a layer of foam or plastic, and then going back to the general manager who doesn't know anything about anything to say, its ready to go ship it. The drivers get blame for everything, they have to find the customers furniture at the many warehouses, load the trucks, deliver it, collect the money, try and settle bad dealings, and even repair some furniture in homes, at the sametime do pickups that need to be done instant after the estimator is done with his bullshit story and promises, They work endless hours of overtime with no overtime pay, and no benefits, if they get hurt on the job or sick and must take time off they lose pay. And they get constant blame for marked furniture which is suppost to have been QC-D. Most of the guys that drive are good workers with the exception of a couple or Kevin who loves to sleep bullshit and make the other drivers do the work. As for customers, if you don't get more estimates and go ahead a sign the contract you going to lose money, investigate and get more options, and never believe words, check and read the contract over and over again, and also watch as usually the estimator which is making a call to get you a better deal, he usually has not turned his phone on. The company is just plain bad news, its all about money and no care for the people keeping the business alive. Trust me I know and from the time I was with TMC I had seen enough to make me sick. Not a job for anyone wanting a career or a place to get your antique furniture done. |
