Harris Motors Jack Singh Unfair Business Practices at Harris Motors in Houston, TX Houston, Texas
11th of Mar, 2013 by User603161
I went with my friend to Harris Motors in Houston, TX, two weeks ago to purchase a car for him. When we got there, we looked around and after a while, we had to find one of the salesmen ourselves to look inside a car. That shows you their attitude about selling cars. We finally find a car, a 2006 Lexus GS300. Me and my friend only had $3000 to put as down payment on this vehicle. They told us that their bank wouldn't finance us with another $1000 down. Harris Motors offered us in-house financing. Which was $3000 down, for 24 months. We took it. We were given the option of the in-house financing or to get $1000 more to qualify to finance with their bank or stick with the in-house financing. Me and my friend kept asking and asking just to make sure that we are not obligated to bring $1000. The salesman said that we weren't obligated. Two weeks after driving the car, I get a call from Jack Singh, the financial manager there. He said that we owed him $1000 and it was due that day or they're coming to take the car from us. We thought it was a big misunderstanding so we went to the dealership ourselves only to find that the car was being taken away from us. We asked for them to refund the down payment but they refused and threatened that we will lose everything. Do not buy from this dealership. You will get RIPPED OFF. Another thing is, the car was damaged the night before we had to bring it in to the dealership. Me and my friend filed a claim on it to get repaired. When we took it to the dealership and Harris Motors took the car back, they asked about it. We told them what happened and they saw that as a way to fix everything wrong with it using our insurance. They even said that they already had a buyer, and it was still in our name! Be careful of this dealership. I hope that they lose all their customers and are stuck with all their low end beat up cars that we happened to be gullible enough to take interest in, with no one to sell them too. Honestly, it could've been a good dealership, if they didn't treat customers like trash. Especially me, who's not even a customer but a seasoned veteran of the US Army.
