American Octane RIPS OFF CONSUMERS=JUST TAKES MONEY AND DOES NOT GIVE CREDIT CARD Internet |

On July 22nd I applied for an American Octane credit card. $99.00 was debited from my checking account by Allied Wallet. I received an email that my application was approved and it stated that I would get my card in the mail within 21 business days. I never received a card so around the beginning of September I called customer service and was told that my address was one number off or something and that a card went out so they would fix the mistake and send me another card and it should arrive within two weeks. Two weeks passed and I STILL did not receive a card. I called again and was told that the company that manufactures the cards was having a problem and the customer service rep told me AGAIN that they would mail out another card. I was understandably upset and asked to speak to a supervisor. The "supervisor" got on the phone and I explained that here it was almost October and $99.00 was debited from my checking account two months ago and everytime I call there is an excuse why the card has not gone out. The "supervisor" was rude and stated abruptly- we will close your account. I was fine with that but asked about a refund and she stated I would have to email to get a refund. I asked her how long that would take and she said she did not know (as a "supervisor") I sent two emails and got NO response whatsoever. Just to be sure I didn't get the email address wrong- I emailed refund and . I contacted the Better Business Bureau for help. After no response the Better Business Bureau closed my case and advised other routes to solve this dispute. One piece of advise was to contact the Florida Attorney General. A week later, I got an email from BBB that stated American Octane did finally respond that my account was closed- Hello? They didn't even read my complaint-after much back and forth I responded that I might exercise my option to contact the Florida Attorney General- American Octanes response- Go ahead. Here is the website. BBB had to close my case again because the are not an enforcement agency only reporting. I have contacted several agencies: 1. The Florida Attorney General 2. The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Division of Consumer Services 3. The Departent of Public Safety Division of Consumer Affairs. The Florida Attorney General said there was nothing they could do unless I file a suit against this company and suggested the other agencies to help. I have been going back and forth with these agencies and American Octane. American Octane told one agency- Oh sorry for the inconvienence- we will send the card right away! I responded I didn't want the card I wanted my money back. They sent a card after 6 months of requesting a refund!! I sent it back. American Octane told one agency that I got my card, activated it, closed my account and THEN requested a refund. They said I wasnt entitled to a refund because it was past the time limit to request one. I NEVER activated the card- I didn't receive it until 6 months of complaining. The last agency even got a letter from the OWNER: J D CARPEL His response was I received my card. I was dissatisfied so we closed her account. No further action is required on her part. No mention of the refund of my $99.00 that I have been requesting for 9 months!!! The last agency requested proof of activation and correspondence regarding the company's attempts to resolve this complaint. No response yet. Another complaintant said they seem to take complaints personal. I am taking this scam as personal attack on consumers. How can they take someone's money and not provide services promised. I requested a refund before I even got a card!!! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!! THEY FRAUDULENTLY TAKE CONSUMERS MONEY AND DO NOT PROVIDE YOU WITH A CREDIT CARD AND GIVE YOU THE RUN AROUND WHEN YOU ASK FOR A REFUND OR EVEN THE CREDIT CARD!!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT APPLY FOR THIS CARD!! |
