Pro Model USA Adult Scam Phoenix, Arizona
30th of Mar, 2011 by User202467
I recently signed up for their 'adult' talent agency. Its not on the same site but the phone numbers are the same. They post their ads on persons websites like Backpage.com. I was able to talk to an individual who said, "There are a lot of adult jobs available in my area." Seeing as I live in the middle of nowhere (North Dakota), I was immediately tipped off that their was a possible that this was a scam. He went on to say that in order for me to star working and have them represent me they needed me to pay $99 for a background check and $199 for registration in compliance with USC Code Section 2257. Upon reading up on USC Code Section 2257, I called them back with some questions regarding the law, because it states that it is for "record keeping purposes for companies and/or individuals producing adult materials for sale." They had their account manager talk to me and he was very rude over the phone. I had simple, logical questions that he dismissed and refused to answer because and I quote, "You're not in the adult industry, so you don't know shit about how things work." He repeatedly told me I didn't know anything just because I read the law while refusing to answer my questions and became increasingly hostile until I finally hung up the phone. And to top it off, the 'legit' website contains no useful information regarding the company.

Oh yeah. One glance at this page:
http://promodelusa.com/index-3.php

...and it becomes crystal clear. These are what the girls and I call "hustlas!"

Listen up models, all you pretty girls (and boys, and trans, etc), DON'T! EVER! pay an agent or agency a single cent unless it's the agreed upon percentage from your first check from the gig that they arranged for you!

Typical amateur hustlers slap up a crappy site and try and pump you for what some "startup" money. BS! They get paid when you get paid, it's as simple as that. If they want to try and bargain for an extra percentage from your first gig to cover the costs of promotional photos, etc, maybe you can come to an arrangement. But if they're a reputable, proven company then even that is sketchy. At that point, it's up to you. But this "front-money" scam is one of THE reddest flags in the biz!

Caveat Emptor! (Buyer Beware! ;)
