Smartstart 50 lockout scam Internet, Texas |

My name is Heather
5 years ago I recieved my 2nd DUI I have been sober since this event. The RMV took my license for 5 years and I am not in complaint with that. I did the crime I did the time. However at 4 years you are allowed in Massacusetts what is called a cinderlla license which allows you to get back and forth to work. It also requires that you have what is called an interlock ignition device installed in your car. I also have nothing against this at it is my punishment. My complaint is against the fraudulent collection of fees that is happening through smartstart. The devices themselves are flawed. The first time they tried to charge me 50 dollars for a lockout it was because the device went off after the ignition turned off which it is not supposed to do. The second time same deal. I went to long radio and they said there was a patch the computer had to put into it because others were having the same problems. This third time today I blew into my device to go to work and passed, 10 minutes later it went off I blew into it again after having only coffee and it failed me put me into violation mode which gives you 48 hours to get to long radio and pay their 50 dollar fee to have the lockout taken off, 5 minutes later it went off again and I passed. So I call the company and say sir I cannot have gotten drunk and the undrunk in the span of 5 minutes to which he replies it had to be the sugar alcohols in your coffee. I spent the next couple of hours calling an attorney the head of smartstart and the companies that make my coffee sugar and creamer to have mail sent to me stating that there is no alcohol in any of those products. I paid the 50 dollars and I am making an uproar here because this will also be forwarded to the DMV and stays on my record and they could make trouble for me if they so choose. Smartstart is a fraudulent company scamming those of money for crimes they have already paid for. Had I been drunk I would have understood and paid for the lockout and any other punishment I had coming to me. I would like to add that I have been a sober member of AA for 5 years since my last arrest. Beware to those having to use this company. Thank you
Heather of
Massachusetts
