Whirlpool Whirlpool Corporation 15 month old washer with multiple repairs and now needs replaced and they won't do anything Benton Harbor 49022-2692, |

We bought a whirlpool duet front loader washer and dryer with the stacking kit, back on September 4th, 2010. We started having problems almost immediately with it leaking and catching our clothes. We had at least 1 bellow replaced (I believe it was 2) under the 1 year manufacture warranty. 2 months out of the warranty, we have the same problem again. We were given a 2 year warranty under Lowe's for purchasing a new set through them (we had a dryer that was messed up through one of their authorized dealers during a warranty for another dryer back in 2010 so they offered us an extended warranty through them if we bought with them again). We called Lowe's and they sent out a repair man who said that we needed a front and back tub, a spin basket, and a new bellow. Lowe's says it cost to much to fix it and they will give us our money back, which is all they can be expected to do since it isn't their product. Well, the money back is not even close enough to cover a new washer (we paid 419.22 and tax because of the deal they gave us to buy through them and for the Labor day sale). I called whirlpool to ask them if they could help out since the unit is only 15 months old and the supervisor Unita said "sorry, you have to go back through Lowe's because you have a warranty with them." I asked them why I would need to get a new washer after 15 months and they refused to even talk to me anymore. I asked for her manager because this is unacceptable that they will not even stand behind their product and they said there was not another manager to talk to. She was it. I asked for corporate's number and she gave it to me, knowing that they were closed and couldn't help me. I still have a broken washer that is barely over a year old that isn't working and they want me to buy another one! I cannot afford a 700 washer every year (which is what the new one will costs at the store). They were rude on the phone and will not stand behind their product that I paid for and now isn't working. |
