Wayland Academy I've seen other reports about the school, and as an alumn, I decided to finally speak up. DON'T LET THE SCHOOL FOOL YOU, THEY ONLY CA |

I am an alumni of the school who recently graduated and came across a couple of reports via a Google search. Normally, I would just keep my mouth shut, but this time I decided to speak up. I don't think it's right for a private school to deny students admission because of money, but it happens. I don't think it's right that they turn their heads the other way when their students are breaking the rules i.e. stealing, sex, etc. It all happens at Wayland, but nobody ever hears about it because they cover it up. I decided to finally take a stand. I wasn't a straight A student when I was there, but I always did my best and showed my loyalty by going to the basketball games, although that was mostly to get out of study hall. Anyway, I was a decent student, got decent grades, and played football and baseball, although probably cared more about the sports than the grades. The problem is that they let the kids run wild, having sex on campus, and one of the guys who wrote the other report pointed out that you know to avoid cerain spots on campus on the weekends lol. True though, its crazy how much stuff went on, like the gala hen we aren't allowed out on campus cuz the teachers are gettin drunk and dont want us to see them. the gala is this event where they have a auction and all the parents bid on stuff and drink and we eat dominoes in the fieldhouse and play basketball for like four hours. then they come back to do dorm duty and are drunk. its crazy. not only do students get in trouble for sex there, but they also get in trouble for drugs and alcohol. there have been quite a few kids who got thrown out. there was a kid a couple years ago who got like 20 "points" which means he got in trouble a lot. a major rule break is 6 points and a minor is 3 points. he got in trouble for stealing but his parents just kept donating money to keep him there. they finally kicked him out though after half the year (once his parents were done paying). anyway, my point is that kids run wild and its not fair to the kids who really work hard. the school started having some real bad financial issues last year, mostly because the old president and admissions head were giving out way too much aid to people and even spending it on personal items. the president had an affair and so the board of trustees asked him to resign. because of that, they had to cut back for this year and a lot of kids, mostly freshmen, couldn't afford it so they couldn't come back. i knew a few juniors that i was friends with that were basically "kicked out" cuz they couldn't afford it while the kids who are having sex and doing drugs got to stay cuz they were paying full tuition. anyways, i would be real careful when choosing to send your kid there. once they get ur money, they dont care. i was a little dissapointed in the school, but i just kept my moth shut, but since i got a diploma i really dont care and they cant get back at me now, so i guess i'll spread the truth now.
