New Years Day, the sales are on!
My wife and I stopped by Target in Bluffton, SC. Many items were on sale and we were looking for a few that we needed. First stop, pants for my daughter, price tagged at $19.99. The sign said $15.00, we picked up several pair. Next stop was a purse for my wife. We found one that was suitable on a rack that said $19.95. When we checked out the pants were fine ($15.00), the purse however rang up at $32.50. We called for a manager to help us out. The manager, a small man named Howard, not far away, but talking with a collection of women, chose to ignore us for several minutes.
Finally grasping the reason for our request, he walked down to the isle where the purses were. Standing at the endo of the isle, too lazy to actually walk up and speak with us, he started making some kind of gestures unrecognizable to either the cashier or us. I had to walk to him to find out what he wasdoing. I pointed to the rack where there were six (no kidding, really six) signs that said $19.95. "That's where we got it from" I said. Howard said the one you have is $32.50. "Ok, sell me this one" (grabbing another from the same rack). "That one is $32.50 too" he said. I explained that if they were in fact on the sale rack that they must be on sale and sell for what the rack says. "I don't care, they are $325.0" said Howard. We took our pants and left.
Target is normally a fine place to shop, good prices, good quality, however no store is better than the people they hire to represent them. My background is law enforcement. In law enforcement we have something called "little mans disease". Someone of small stature gains authority and abuses it, thinking somehow that makes them big, they don't last long. Perhaps that is Howards problem, I don't know. Once again, a store is only as good as the people that represent it. If Howard is the best they have I would recommend the Target store in Bluffton, South Carolina be avoided.
Dishonest and illegal advertising of products and a manager that stands behind such misleading criminal acts should not be tolerated. YOU ARE THE VICTIM! Shop at honest stores with honest management. |
