I called two repair companies to give us an estimate for a condo garage door that became inop on Dec 2, 2011. Dec 5th. The next day both companies arrived at the same time even though it wasn't planned that way. Rite way arrived early. Alain with Riteway allowed the other guy to give his estimate first which was for $1750. The first guy said that all I need was springs inside the barrel. He gave me a written estimate when he left. Moments later Alain walk up, looked at the garage and agreed that all I need was springs (like the first guy said). The minute back turned the property manager hijacked Alain from my dealings with Alain so he could "up the price" and see it how played out. The repair ended up costing $3800--$2K more than what he told me and what the first company, Super Garage, quoted me. When I confronted him about his dishonesty, he because infuriated and said he was going to call the cops if I didn't leave him alone. He refused to give me a final estimate for his repairs. He also told another condo owner the next day that he did not want to share any info about how much the job actually ended up costing and he also refuses to let us have our perfectly good OLD door back. NOt only did we not get the old door back. Alain also told me property manager that he would not honor the servicing and warranty that was agreed to in the contract because I had filed a formal complaint with the BBB.
