Lexicon Senior Healthcare Employment Scam Dallas, Texas |
25th of Jan, 2011 by |
Beware. Lexicon sells insurance and are recruiting agents. The catch is that they expect you to fly to Dallas, stay in a hotel for 3 or 4 nights, meals etc. for training classesat your expense!! And then lay out $999 for "set-up fees". This is for a 1099 commission job!! Do not even waste your time applying.
|
|
|
The negative complaints help the people who may want this job because they can't find anything else and if you have sales experience, this sounds like a really good job. However, I have spent all my savings paying bills and wouldn't be able to afford the 599. So before I take my phone interview, I know what I am getting myself into. It's very frustrating to wait 6 months to find a job and then go through the run around like the first comments described. If you have money to get you started and you are doing well, than good for you!!! You go! You are further ahead than a lot of us in these hard economic times. I don't think it is right to call people names because of how they feel. Anyone can express an opinion on the world wide web and we all know that. And when you are at your very very low, there is nothing wrong with being a crybaby for a while, but make sure you get yourself up and go right back at it. Some people dont like car salespeople or doing the job, but I had tons of fun and made a lot of money doing that. Never called my coworkers cry babies when they complained that they couldn't get a sale. Thank you everyone for your comments. |
|
|
that sounds all well and good but what about the fact that Great American Insurance Co does not acknowledge Lexicon under their umbrella of companies JHK & OTRUTH?? And, also the fact that they do not currently have a license? Sounds like legitimate concerns for me. I had my second interview two days ago and had up until today to decide. I thought I had made the decision to try it but not so sure now. I know as a sales person in other companies that there are territory costs, I tried to sell a water product out of Arizona not too long ago and the territory cost was $10, 000 and that was just for one small territory, and I am sooo glad I didn't spend that kind of money to do hard sells. My husband also got suckered into a steel company's territorial cost of $5, 000. never once got a sale from that company and Lord knows he worked it. So the cost of what Lexicon is charging is very minimal. My concern is are they legit and right now I'm leaning towards the thought that they are not b/c of the stated concerns listed above. |
|
|
what about the fact that they are not recognized by Great American Insurance and that they have no license??That's pretty suspicious JHK |
|
|
I also thank all for their post.. Out of work with 4 kids and a wife we almost shelled out that money and I thank God I was able to read these post prior to my call to LSH to "secure" my territory and make plans for the trip to Dallas.. |
|
|
OK. I rarely chime in with my personal opinion on line, but after reading these comments, I can't help myself. I am currently researching LSH because I was contacted by a recruiter. I've been in hard core sales, I've been a bank manager, and I've been a waitress and i've been a manager in retail. In a nut shell I was extremely successful in each career. Here's what I see and this is where I am NOT taking opinions into consideration...
One person said it was a waist of their "hard earned money" after quitting from being out on the field 2 days... Uh, last time I checked, 2 days was NOT hard work. That's two days of everyone and their mother telling you NO because your feet aren't wet and you are still learning. If in a year you still have no success, then evaluate yourself and your tactics. Success can be found anywhere if you don't quit... ever!
So far, most of the people who say this didn't work for them only stuck it out for no more than a few days or even a month or two. Sorry folks, you didn't give yourself a chance and you took the failure way too personal.
JHK, you will be successful anywhere. You could sell food out of an out house.. I can tell by reading your blog that you took the "no's" and learned from them and moved on. However, you could also be the president of the company and representing yourself as an employee LOL Who the hell knows. It's all based on a persons willingness to decide, take responsibility for their actions weather the results are in their favor or not.
I don't know if this will be the right job for me because I will openly admit that I do not have the money to put forward, but also, I don't know if I have the time to travel as much as is necessary to be successful.
My only concern is the money you have to put upfront... Janice made a good point about having to pay to be with an employer. Yes, it is a business decision and it almost seems as if you are buying in to a share of it and having to pay for territories is normal in most circumstances so I truly am not sure how to feel about this.
Anyway... bla bla bla... we all have our opinions, right? So, to those that feel they got screwed, my apologies and I hope you were able to recover financially and find a job more suitable to you. For those who were successful. Congrats and its good to know there is still success taking place out there in a world of unemployed, financially struggling people... myself included. Currently unemployed and have decided to make finding a job my current full time job. It's only been a month and I will not let this economy break me like it has so many.
Good luck to you all out there making it "work" ;)

I just listened to their web presentation. Of course I want to do as much research as possible before 'committing' to a company and more importantly, MYSELF! Based on what I am reading, it is rather obvious that that you are not going to get a gift from Lexicon but more so an opportunity. Anyone who has been in sales knows that it isn't easy but is it possible. I'm going to go forward and I will post an update... down the road. I can tell you that based on OTRUTHo & JHK, this opportunity must be first-class unless they are company plants trying to encourage prospects like me. It is early Jan. / 2012. I will post an update in March. I don't know if will be positive or negative but one thing is for sure... It WILL be the truth. I don't know who to thank yet, but I will. Good luck to all of you and God bless you in your search. |

I am suppose to have a web interview tomorrow with Lexicon, and I first read a website full of tremendous comments, they said you do have to pay the inital start up and flight to dallas and such but you make it back within the first month. I was so excited to hear of such a company that wanted ME to be on there team. Then I checked other websites such and this and see the negatives, and I am noticing the so called "postive" reviewers, comment the same exact thing word for word from one website to the next. The commenter above talking about "this isnt some mickey mouse job", and the other saying, "I have been checking this from time to time and haven't chimed in until I saw the post from JHK", are repeitive from website to website, so either someone has all the time in the world on their hands to comment on EVERY website talking about Lexicare Senior Healthcare, or they are spamming all these websites for their benefit. Im going with the latter..
I have no exerience with them so I can't judge, but I dont think I am willing to pay $2000, to HOPE something works out. |
|
|
UPDATE: thank you JHK. after re-reading your posts and the countless others here, i have decided to NOT go forward. I can see that you are a company plant with nothing to lose if 'the only real failure in life is the failure to 'try'"... you got to be kidding ...RIGHT. couldn't be more salesy if you tried.
I CAN'T SEE WHY A SUCCESSFUL LEXICON REPRESENTATIVE WOULD EVEN BE ON THIS SITE ! Prospective job- seekers, consumers... SURE.
THANK YOU ALL FOR SAVING ME A COUPLE THOUSAND BUCKS BEFORE I FELL FOR THIS CON GAME TOO. All the best |
|
|
I was saved but I'm begging anyone looking for work as an ethical, moral and REAL insurance agent...
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don't fall for this scam. IF YOU ARE YOUNG, NEW OR INEXPERIENCED these sharks will take you.
I'm pleading with you to NOT fall for it.
there is a reason why "CON" is in their name. their arrogance overlooked such a trivial thing. |

I too was involved in the marketing of Lexicon. Never heard of them. Asked plenty of questions. Vague answers . After 1 hr on a phone interview, I was told I would have to spend over $1600.00 of my own money. Then I was asked if I was comfortable with that amount. I said “no”, the interview was over. Never heard from him again. |
|
|
www.buffettseniorhealthcare.com is this another company like Lexicon? Buffett is recruiting heavily and I cannot find any info on them but think it might be another scam like Lexicon. |

I noticed all of these complains are Pretty old that's why I decided to post my comments about this company. I do not know if this is a scam or not but certainly know they are not in insurance business but advertising business. They just want to make money from selling you leads. And I experienced this first hand. Well, it's up to you. I backed off. $20 per appointment x 4 per day x. 5 days = $400 per week = $1600 per month. If you are willing to spend that kind of money and not sure how good they are and what will your be able to sell, well take a chance. Thanks, I backed off after talking to one person in their office. As soon as I expressed my dissatisfaction for charging me $1600 a month she said "I do not thnk you are a good fit"
Well, I agree with her 100%. |

If you are welling to spend $599 just to get your foot in the door of an illegitimate company be my guest, after talking to the woman for my phone interview (which I only did to hear the B.S they would give me as food for thought) I was not only tickled but sadden. I asked myself who in their right mind would pay to receive a job? You would think you would receive some ownership of the company, but you are a salesmen working basically for more then it is worth. The women spit out a couple of numbers too much money if you ask me, and I told her she should be ashamed. I understand those people who have been unemployed for months, some even years but to trick someone when they maybe at their worst is really sad. JHK is apart of the scam, spitting out toxic so the company can seem legit. Sadly it is not... I honestly warn you do not waste your time, the lady told me of the area I may have to work in... Did some research the area is where those have little if any money. I can tell you what they will get you to do just by reading JHK and the other comments on this and other sites. They will have you tell these people some lie, because of course these people will be uneducated living on some kind of welfare. You will convince them this is their idea, make the feel secure, tell them of some discount that only is available for people like them (making them feel special), and then tell them how good your product compares to others people, tell them the price won't rise, etc. But that is and only if you get your foot in the door, either way you will pay. You sell your soul for a product that does not help the people it promises. I want to find the person who actually runs this scam so I could slap them down some stairs. |

I worked for this company back in 2010 when it was SHC and all the negative comments posted are correct. I've been a business owner for years and when the bad economy hit I lost my business, but, I know what it takes to build a business. However, the odds are stacked against you. My appointments in some cases were over 250 miles away, yes, to the first appt, then another 3 hours to the next. These people can't afford what you are offering. This is why the market to the low income, rural areas, they seek to find less educated people.
If their product was so good and priced well, why not sell it in major population areas, where you could drive 45 minutes and cover twice as many appts in a day.
Yes, it was $599 for training material, and you have to pay for trip to Dallas, hotel, food, etc.
The training was all about the presentation and roll play with the others in your class, but, you have to look at the behind the scenes things to really tell what is going on.
Your training guide is, was, a top producer, claiming how he love the freedom, residual income and helping people, but as you dive into it you have to ask questions and here is where things go wrong.
Their product is too expensive for the marketplace they are trying to get you to sell to. Why don't they sell their supposedly better med supplement to the $100, 000 income bracket near large population areas. The reason is simple, those are sophisticated buyers and they will research what they buy and learn the product is not what it seems, the scare tactics won't work on them The other factor is that you are told don't stay in touch with others in your class since most don't make it, we have 6. I lasted 3 days in the field after drive over 1000 miles (Phoenix was home base, large state) up at 5 a.m out the door after daily meeting.
I did stay in touch with all of the class, 4 had quit within 2 weeks, and one guy, whom I knew would make it and I lost touch with, got in touch with me after about 2 months, told me he had to leave, he had made the company over $40, 000 but he made nothing after gas, hotels, $18 leads (at that time) and was hugely disappointed.
They tell you the call center is their highest cost center and that the owners spend a millions of dollars a year to generate leads so that agents can just sell. The program is really a telemarketing deal that they have figured out they pay them hourly plus a commission and then charge you. I bet my bottom dollar if you see their numbers they are making money solely on charging agents for leads.
Like many others, I consider myself pretty bright, I built 2 successful businesses and I felt like I was scammed on this opportunity. The odds of success in this format are under 1%, believe me, I saw people who had kids to support, like me, single moms in the class and businessmen, we all saw our world of opportunity come crashing down.
Save your time, save your money. |
