My husband and I visited the Legacy KOP office for a presentation invitation we received in the mail indicating that we would receive a free trip for attending. We were pleased with what we saw during the presentation but still reluctant to sign for a full membership. The salesman quickly pulled out a new offer, which included services for 1 year, which could be upgraded to a full membership if we desired. Still unsure, we decided to go with the 1 year trial membership as they called it, siting then that the free trip we would receive as a complementary gift for attending the presentation would surely help us decide if Legacys services were consistent with what they promoted during the presentation. To my dismay, this was not the case. In fact, we have never received the free trip voucher despite numerous calls and inquiries to the sales office and to specifically, Gloria Brown. Ms. Brown, asked me to fax her a copy of our free trip selection indicating that the promotional company who handles the free trips made an error in the mailing address on the form we filled out. I faxed the form directly to Gloria Brown as suggested and never heard back from her. I contacted Legacy again to learn she was out on medical leave and that a replacement, Bridget, would be taking care of my request. Bridget also failed to return my calls. Since then, I have made many attempts to resolve this issue and had finally asked Legacy to refund my membership siting that the following: Failure to deliver on promises made during the presentation with regard to the free trip as well as other services seemingly unavailable on-line and grossly misrepresented during the presentation in an attempt to persuade us to sign. I explained to Ms. Brown that I believed that Legacys tactics in this case, were deceptive and designed to fool consumers into a false sense of security with a travel company that cannot deliver on its promises. I would also like to note that while most of the people I spoke to at Legacy throughout this experience were very nice, polite and professional, my last conversation with Ms. Brown, was not. In my opinion, Ms. Brown was inaccurate with the details of my dispute, unprofessional and rude. I told her that I had lost all faith in Legacy as a travel company and would be less than comfortable placing travel plans and any additional monies into Legacys hands in the future. Moreover, since I had not received any services from Legacy to date, including the complimentary trip, I was requesting a cancellation/refund of my travel membership. Recently, I tried to call yet again in an attempt to resolve this case. I asked for Bridget and when I gave them my name, the person on the other end (who I believe was Gloria Brown) hung up the phone. I called back again to a voice recording left a message and have yet to hear back from her or the companyI guess I never will! Buyer Beware of Legacy Travel in KOP. |
