KingSize advertised "free express shipping on orders of $25 or more" on their main web page before Christmas of 2010. Everything sounded fine, and I even read the fine print of the offer (http://www.kingsizedirect.com/staticpage/contentpage.aspx?pagename=KSD_121310_KS20506), which doesn't state anything unusual. I have a screen cap of the offer here since this offer will change/expire: http://2geek.org/images/kingsize_offer_deception.jpg Not only is the offer title deceptive, but the actual steps are deceptive when they use the words "free delivery". The false advertising leads a customer to believe this offer will give them free shipping/free delivery. The problem is that none of the shipping is ever "free". Placing an order with the website will remind the customer that the free shipping/discounts will be applied in the final steps of the order. Free shipping is never applied, even if the customer follows all directs and selects "express shipping" as directed by the offer. I contacted KingSize directly over the phone and was baffled to learn that their offer is really just a free upgrade to express shipping from standard shipping. So this is NOT "free express shipping" or "free delivery" as the advertised stated. This is merely a "free upgrade". NO where in the advertisement, offer, or fine print did it ever clarify that this was a free upgrade to shipping. So KingSize lures online customers in with false advertising, then figures we'll just let the order go through anyways because after all, it's only shipping, right? Wrong. Instead they won themselves a place here on RipoffReport with a POed customer. I'm filling this report to call out KingSize on their false advertising and deceptive tactics. |

Very similar complaint from me. I received an email from One Stop Plus which promised 30% off AND FREE Shipping on orders of $75.00 or more. In the detail section it stated further: "Place $75.00 or more into your shopping cart" (to receive discount and free shipping.) When I placed $123.00 worth of merchandise in my "shopping cart" and checked out I was still charged $10.99 for free shipping. I called customer service to ask them to correct my order and subtract that amount as I qualified for free shipping per their instructions in the email promotion. They told me that as after the discount my order no longer was over $75.00 that I did not any longer qualify for free shipping. NO WHERE in the promotional email did it state that this would be the case. The only requirement stated was that I complete my purchase by midnight that night and "place $75.00 or more of merchandise in my "shopping cart". I complied with both of those requirements and they still wanted to charge me $10.99 for shipping! Only after I said I was going to report them to the BBB for deceptive advertising practices did the customer service rep agree to delete the charge for shipping. I will have to wait till my order arrives and my credit card is billed to learn if that promise actually is kept.
Also though they promise on their site that all returns are FREE -- this is not true. You have to pay the return postage yourself. If you ask them about it after a purchase they say that "FREE RETURNS" only means they don't charge you a re-stocking fee.
Beware of this company KIng Size- One Stop Plus- |
