I got married in November, 2010 and used L.A. Wright Photography to take my pictures. Her contract states that we will get 3 cd’s (one for us, and one copy for each set of parents) with all pictures on them in 4-8 weeks, and 8-12 weeks for albums for us and our parents. We weren’t getting any actual pictures, just the cd’s and then we could go and print as many as we wanted. 3 months later after constant excuses, she finally put them up on her website for me to look at. I was extremely patient with her the whole time. I understand things happen to computers and people get sick. All I wanted was my pictures, that is what we paid for in full on the day of the wedding (which she was very rude about asking for). I got the first cd (only one, not three like the contract states) on 2/18/11, 12-14 weeks after our wedding. As soon as I got it I went through the pictures, there were a lot of them but it didn’t seem like enough for 9 hours of constant shooting with two photographers. None of them were in order, and I tried to put them in order by file name or even date but the file names were all different and none of the times were correct. So I had to go through each one and try to put them in order of how I thought they went. Again, I didn’t make a big deal about it at the time because I just wanted my pictures. Well as I was going through them I noticed that big chunks of time were missing-important things like there weren’t any of my husband and his groomsmen getting ready, there weren’t any of my husband dancing with his mother, none of my bridesmaids bouquets, etc. Also specific pictures that I remember her taking were missing, and some of the pictures that she had put up on her website earlier weren’t on there. So I contacted her again, and got another cd with some more out of order pictures a few weeks later. But again, it wasn’t all of them. So at this point I’m getting a little frustrated. I still don’t have all the pictures, cds for our parents, and any albums- it’s been 4 months, way past her timeline on her contract. So I contacted her and let her know all of my frustrations, and demanded to have all my pictures by the end of March. I also asked her to fix some of them that had marks on people’s faces and swirl marks on stuff, things that should have been edited before I got the pictures. There were also a bunch of pictures of my husband I dancing that had this dark border around them, and I didn’t like it because it was outside and the pictures were already dark, so I asked her to take the border off. She started off by telling me that most people like that border because it makes you focus more on what’s in the center of the picture, making it sound like I’m completely wrong for wanting it without the border. I also got some pictures in black and white and asked if I could have the color copy, which never happened. I contacted her and told her about all the pictures that I thought were missing and she said she would send me another cd. So now it’s March, and I still don’t have all my pictures, no cd’s for our parents, and no albums. It also stated in her contract that we could have another photo session with her if we wanted (like family pictures, or baby bump pictures, etc.), and I hadn’t used that either. At this point we decided that all we were going to keep getting was excuses and we just wanted to get some of our money back and part ways with her. So in April, we filed the paperwork and had to pay to have her served because she wouldn’t accept the certified letter that we sent her. In July we went to court, and the judge (even though he was a complete ass) ruled in our favor and said she had to pay us back for the albums and the extra session that we never got. I don’t really think that was good enough but I figured that was all we were going to get. The whole time that we were “presenting†our cases, all she could do was blame us for everything, I mean everything. And then she even gave the judge a cd and said that it contained all of the pictures in order to prove that she was right. Well I would certainly hope that after 8 months she could get her act together enough to get all the pictures together and in order. When we went to walk out, I asked her for the cd because they are my pictures and that’s all I wanted in the first place-we later went home and looked at the cd and there weren’t any new pictures and they were still not in order. She said she couldn’t pay us back all of what she owed us right then, so she wanted us to wait until October. We said that we needed her to show us that she was actually going to pay and send us $100 every month until it was paid off. She agreed and even sent me an email after that asking for the address of where to send the check and saying that it will be in the mail soon. Never got anything, month after month. I again contacted her in October and she went on with more excuses about it being her slow time of year and she was going to have to have surgery and she couldn’t pay the full amount. Asking us again for more time, and to only pay us the $100.00. Well now it’s the middle of November and we haven’t seen a dime from her. She is a horrible business person, and I really hope that she doesn’t ruin anyone else’s wedding pictures. |
