My husband and I went to Halvorsen Motors after being a customer at a big dealership it seemed like the individual attention to what we needed was a nice change. We purchased a 2007 Jeep Liberty. It has a small issue, the left turn signal would not work but they placed it on the warranty sheet to be taken care of. Not even a month later, I am leaving work and I turn the key and nothing happens. I have to have the Jeep towed to my home and from there had it towed by to the dealership. That's two separate tow charges and my warrant item, the faulty signal light, had not yet been fixed. The mechanic at the dealership said that there was a rod broken in the steering column and that he can fix it by just replacing the rod. Four days later I pick up my Jeep, I drive it to the car wash that is at most 20 minutes away. I deposit my money and as the bar lifts to let me through, the car stops again. I turn the key and immediate notice smoke billowing out from under the hood and it is not making it into the passenger cabin. I grad by 4 year old son and yell for my husband to dial for the firemen. My son still is terrified of any vehicle that is red in color. A little hesitant, I went back to Halvorsen to see what can he done for me since I had put down $2250 in down payment and was reluctant to lose it. The owner of the dealership flat out told us that the deal was complete and we would need a new down payment. I'm not sure how that deal was done with my warranty issue still unsatisfied but okay, we took the loss and went somewhere reputable. I have no idea why but since then I have been receiving harassing text messages from the salesman we were working with. He made the threat that "we had better cooperate with the insurance company or else we will be taken to court and our wages will be garnished. First of all, we have been working with the insurance, they informed us that they have a certain amount of time to investigate the fire (considering how suspect it was). For three months strait I received threating text messages from the staff at Halvorsen although they had no action against my husband or I. I will continue to share my story until Halvorsen and their shoddy business practices until everyone that will listen, hears. |
