Green Tree Harrassing! Gutless! AWFUL TO DO BUSINESS WITH! LIARS! Palastine, Illinois |

This company is terrible! They constantly harrass you. Even with a fifteen day grace period, and never having a payment arrive after that, they call sometimes several times a day. We have done business with them since May (when our mortgage was bought or sold to them from Bank of America). I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy! In June our payment was made and cleared our bank and yet we were called daily and told that we needed to send them proof that we made the payment. We continued to tell them the check number, when it was sent and the amount. Finally we started to worry and went to our bank to obtain a copy of our account, only to find that their check had been cashed and had cleared our bank days before. They didn't believe us! They couldn't find our payment. Daily we continued to receive phone calls and then a notice that they were starting foreclosure proceedings. We went to our bank again and had them fax a copy of the canceled check. Green Tree was suppose to call us, but they never did. In fact for the month of July they never called at all. When our next statement came in, our payment still wasn't credited to our account. I was told by them that they needed time to investigate the matter. The MATTER WAS THEIR MISTAKE! The payment was finally credited for the 25th of July, not for the actual date that they received it. Even now it hasn't been credited for the date they received it. When they make a mistake, they don't have the guts to admit it, but they'll call us and lay blame on their customers. This is a terrible way to run a company! How can they claim to help people when they can't be honest with the customers that they have? I have talked to others who also have their mortgages with this company and they have received up to 300 phone calls in a month. THIS IS HARRASSMENT AND AGAINST THE LAW! How do they continue to get away with it? I have decided to bring this case to the Banking Commission in my state. Perhaps this way someone can check to see how this company can continue to treat people this way. For anyone out there thinking about refinancing your mortgage...DON'T GO THROUGH GREEN TREE. You'll be sorry if you do. |
