Beware of Geoff White / White Management / Choice Automotive / Geoffrey White / Odessa,FL / Clearwater,FL
I called an ad I saw online for Choice Automotive for a Mercedes S55 AMG - spoke to a Geoff who said he had just sold that car but could get another one. He specialized in them - this was the beginning of my 2 week nightmare. Geoff persistently called me and sent pictures of various vehicles he could purchase or had in stock. Finally, I bit on one and sent him a deposit.... then as it turns out - he never owned the car and the guy who did had never heard of him. I found this out by mistake as I was looking on other auction sites and saw the vehicle. Geoff could not tell the truth if his life depended on it - he is a compulsive liar and I think mentally disturbed. I called immediately to have my money refunded and told him - "Geoff not sure what you are doing but you can't sell me a car you don't own!!!" He of course had a story - as he does for everything. The long and the short of it is I called the Florida AG, The PInellas County Police dept, The Florida DMV dealer administration along with a civil attorney. Geoff put a check in my account and then stopped payment, even as he lied about it on the phone. It took me the better part of 2 weeks to get my money back in pieces but I finally got it all back after I threatened everything even bodily harm to this crook. He kept calling me which is amazing as he seems to enjoy lying and cheating people. I was lucky in that I got my money back but I caution anyone out there - DO NOT GIVE THIS GUY A PENNY. |

HE IS NOW WORKING IN GEORGIA!!! We purchased a car from him in Augusta, GA...52 days and no title. Now I have someone calling me from Land o Lakes, FL claiming full responsibility for the issue - title was endorsed wrong is the excuse given. We have a story on WRDW News Channel 12 in Augusta, GA regarding what has been done to us. Here is the report...video is on the channel 12 website.

WILLISTON, S.C. (WRDW) -- It is***** first car. "It just means a lot to have a vehicle I can drive back and forth to school, " said ****. Not bad for a 15 year-old, but it is not all good news. "When I first got it, I was able to drive it a lot, " said ****
Now she can only sit in it, crank it up, and check her makeup all from her backyard where it has been parked for some time. Her family bought the car for $7, 000 cash back on June 5, from Auto Source Unlimited on Damascus Road in Augusta.
"We started getting concerned right around the beginning of July, " said *****. She said they had not received a title to the Mini Cooper to register the car for her daughter.
However, they were able to get one 15 day extension through South Carolina's DMV, but that expired on July 19. The *****'s said they have exhausted themselves calling and emailing the company for answers.
"We were assured we were going to have it (the title) in, " said ******. Last week the *****'s said the company emailed them a Georgia temporary license number with instructions. "They told us to cut it out, and put it on the back of the car, and that it was okay. They had gotten it approved through the DMV for an extension, " said ****.
Not believing that story, they contacted 12 On Your Side for help. We stopped in at Auto Source to see if we could get answers from owner, Justin White. He was unavailable. A secretary blocked her face with a business folder as she proceeded to slam the door.
Meanwhile Auto Source Unlimited had been operating without a business license, until today. Richmond County Code Enforcement said Justin White told them he did not know he needed to have a county business license. We did speak with White by phone this afternoon, but he declined to answer our questions. For now the ******'s are just hoping to get their daughter back on the road.
"I'm just tired of the situation, " said ******.
We obtained a copy of that Georgia temporary license that was emailed to them from the dealer. We have not been able to confirm if it is authentic or not. We also could not find the company listed with the Georgia Secretary of State. |

Do not trust Geoff White, Justin White, or Cindy Hall. They pass the buck and make promise they never intend on keeping. In summary, I received a vehicle with 97k miles on it that died 5 mins after being unloaded off of a transporter--diagnosis, bad starter and undersized/bad battery. Cost me $1200 to get the car running just so I could drive it to work. Then I took a closer look, the following was determined bad:
-Tires, three brands on the vehicle! wrong size on rear
-Defective battery, bad cells and undersized
-Bad Starter
-Filthy air filter ----- don't trust these guys when they say a vehicle has been 'maintained' well
-AC leaking at compressor, estimated $1500 repair
-Windshield and rear glass missing rubber trim around windows
-Headliner falling down
-Headliner on sunroof panel missing, glue showing
-Power mirrors, driver and passenger sides are both inoperable
-All wood interior trim is cracked in multiple places
-Hood repainted
-Passenger rear quarter panel has hole drilled in door jamb where body repair has been performed
-Service Engine Soon light on- bad ignition coils and spark plugs
-Radio Display 1/2 illuminated
-Power Outlets are inoperable
-Passenger rear door does not lock/unlock with buttons or remote--electronics inoperable
-No manual, no 2nd key, no floor mats----although I'd expect no frills from an auction house like Autosource Unlimited, so expect to pay for the little things!
Geoff promised to get this car delivered to me in a day or two, said he had trucks coming my way all the time (I'm only 5hrs away). It took nearly 3 weeks of back and forth for them to finally deliver the car, and at a higher price than promised--which they would not reimburse.
I still have not received a title either, it has been almost a month. |
