Platinum Auto Body Fraud, Charging Credit Cards without approval, Scammer. Erie, Pennsylvania |
5th of Jun, 2011 by User784104 |
I was searching for a replacement hood for my 2001 Chevy Suburban. I found Platinum Auto on an Internet search. He had the part I needed. It was listed in triple zero damage on his website, which means it, is in put on condition and needs no work. On April 5, 2011, I called the shop and spoke to Josh; he was the only person I dealt with through this entire ordeal. He confirmed that they had the hood and the price was $250. I said no problem, can you get me a shipping quote. He called my phone back about an hour later and he said it would be $110.06 for shipping to my area. I gave him my credit card and we agreed on a price of $360.06. About an hour later, he called back and stated he would need an additional $20 to properly package the hood inside a wood crate. He stated he needed to send one of his employees to Home Depot to get the wood. On April 14, the hood arrived completely damaged, almost unusable. It arrived in half a cardboard box, if he would have packed in a crate like he said it would have arrived fine. I called the shop immediately and a woman answered stated that Josh was not in and no one else could help me. So I called my credit card company and filed a dispute and hold payment. Josh was supposed to handle all payment questions with my credit card company but instead choose to call my phone and harass me, calling me a "scammer." He also stated he would charge my credit card without my permission if I did not release the disputed charge. The credit card company told me he never contacted them regarding the issue. Long story short, he called me on May 23, and we wanted to settle the charge. I told him I was not going to pay shipping due to the damage. I also paid over $500 to have the hood fixed and repainted. That day we agreed on $250 to end all of this. Instead he charged my card $380.06.I called there June 2, he answered the phone and pretended to be someone else. He should be investigated for his customer service, shipping and illegal charging peoples credit cards. I have already called the credit card and canceled the card twice since he keeps charging it without my authorization. A new one should arrive June 3. The credit card has stopped payment on the amount above $250. This business has horrible ethics and should be investigated and I would like to know the outcome. |
