Here's what I experienced with CAC. I went to one of their dealerships to get credit. My credit wasn't bad, I just had none and needed to record a history so I may buy a home.Found a great, new car right away and was approved within minutes with a minimal down payment and a car payment I could comfortably live with. I made all payments online on due date.
Upon moving, I had to send in my payment with their paper receipt in payment book and put all current information. (new address, phone, etc) I sent this via regular mail, since you cannot give this information online. I sent this 10 days before the payment was due in order to get it there without any problems. Remember - I'm doing this to develop credit.
About 20 days later - - approx 10 days after payment was due and on a Sunday afternoon, I receive a call from CAC on my cell phone. They said they have not received the payment. I explained how I sent it via regular mail and why I sent it that way. CAC then told me that I needed to make a payment right away and that they electronically turned my car off (I had no clue such a device existed or was put on the car) I told her I would call her right back. I went to the garage and the car would not start. I called CAC right back and told them I would have to stop payment on the check on Monday at my bank and that I would call them and make a payment online. The Rep took all my new information and said she would turn the car back on. Went to garage - car back on.
Because I was concerned about this, I called back and gave CAC my debit and told them I wanted to make the payment immediately. CAC stated there were late fees involved. Didn't understand, but okay - just need to get this done - - I made payment over the phone. On Monday, Iwent to bank to stop payment on check - - and checked cleared. I was lied to - - they received the check and held it in order to get the late fees. Now they had 2 payments and my checking account had little money left in it. I called CAC, explained and asked why I was lied to - - CAC stated I was not lied to - - I then realized that I was called on my cell phone on Sunday - -and my cell phone was a new number that was on that receipt that I had sent - so they did get my check and new information in a timely manner and they did enter it in the system or they would not have known to call me at the new number. LIARS, ASSES. Oh - - a mistake- - they made a big mistake, but will keep the extra payment.
I will pay this car off when I get my tax refund. I will never finance a vehicle. I will never trust another car dealership or auto finance company. People - this is why I've always paid cash for my cars.
And to any employee of CAC - - especially the moron I dealt with - - You will be found out soon, enough complaints will put your company out of business. You cannot treat people like this - - not me, not my neighbor - I don't care what your reasons are - - I pay my bills ontime and I WILL honor my contract with you, but in the meantime, I will expose you for the lowlives you all are. If this site can stop one person from using your company, then I and others like me have won.
