Core Carrier Corp Equipment is junk Kansas City, Kansas

I worked for Core Carriers which is owned by Sharkey Trucking. The equipment is really junk. The tractors are not three years old like their ad says but six years old and older Internationals whith small sleepers. The trucks are poorly maintained and if you break down they will not buy the parts to fix it, but will have a company truck deliver the parts when they can get a truck there with a load. I sat for 4 days with a leaking radiator and had to wait for a truck to deliver a radiator to the truck stop where I was waiting. They did not pay me for the down time either. The manager, Mike is a real jerk. He treats the drivers like crap. He is a short guy who wishes he were 6 foot tall and will not even say hello to you when you walk by him. He has a definite attitude problem. The drivers lounge consists of an old office table, four cheap chairs and two vending machines. They do clean the shower once a week. They do not pay lay over or for down time. If you pick up a dirty trailer it is up to the driver to get it cleaned out. I was never so happy when my six months was up so I could go get a job with a real trucking company
