CitiBank Citi Bank Sent Me To Collection Before My Bill Was Due. Hell No I Won't Go! Internet |

After holding a Home Depot card backed by Citi Bank for 5 years they sent me to collections before my bill was due. I had a few months of struggling with finances and called them every month when I could not make the minimum payment and every time I talked to them they told me pay what you can because we were such good customers. The collection came out of the blue. No warning at all. The pinheads at Citi Bank are in for a big surprise. I just love representing myself in court as Pro se. Plus I know enough about civil law I can cost them a fortune in attorneys fees and win. Basically my bill was due on the 21st of the month. On the 10th of the month I received bogus court papers from the attorney's representing them. The idiots thought I would cowar and sign and notorize a waiver of service for the summons. Their court papers did not have a case number or any stamp of a court clerk. The date of the court hearing was also bogus. I am not on the court docket for the date they gave. Since my bill came on the 5th of the month, it is my contention that I had until the 21st to pay my minimum payment and become current on my payments before they could send me to collections. The collectors said they would not take less than the full balance or sign a volunteer judgement and make payments for a year. They also told me to mail any payments to them. So I went to the local Home Depot with my bill before the 21st and paid the full payment in cash which brought me current with my payments. I have not received my bill for this month and probably will not. So I will use my previous bill this month to make twice the minimum payment. The people at Home Depot do not look at the dates they just scan the account code. Now I am just waiting to see if they have the guts to actually file a suit on me. |
