Bella Scarpa Company sold me knowlingly defective shoes and would not follow policy on exchange!!! Atlanta, Georgia

I purchased boots in the amount of $101.65 from the Bella Scarpa Cumberland Mall location on the evening of Friday, November 19th right before I went for a concert. I was going to purchase a lower priced boot, but was encouraged by the floor supervisor, Christina, to purchase the "expensive" boots because they were of greater quality and "looked" better, so I took her advances and purchased the boots.


While just sitting at the concert, I noticed the heel was wobbling and when I took a further look, I saw the heel on the boot broke within that same night in less than 20 mins of wear!!I had to walk 2.5 blocks in my socks and a dress back to my car, HOW EMBARASSING!!


I returned them to the store on Sunday, November 21st and was told by the sales rep that they have been receiving and selling DEFECTIVE shoes so the owner, Tunde, wants to see them and now has to approve all returns. I wrote him a detailed letter of all the accounts surrounding the purchase and defective show and was asked to leave the boots, my original receipt and letter there and that the manager would call me Monday. He never has called TO DATE!!!


I called on Tuesday, November 23rd since I had not heard from anyone and was told the manager was not in the store and that they could not give me his number. I explained my situation and asked them to take my number and to please have Tunde to call me back. Still, to date, I have never received a call.


The floor supervisor, Christina, called me a whole SIX days later the evening of Friday, November 25th to say that they repaired the boot and that I can come pick them up. I explained to her that I did not want the boots back, as I was already told that they were defective and that the reason I left the boot was to get approval for an exchange not a repair. She stated that I could come into the store and exchange within 14 days or I would have to take the sale price of the shoes, and I advised her I would be in that evening. While leaving my house, she called again to say they would not be able to exchange the shoes as she had previously told me.


I went to the store and spoke directly to Christina, floor supervisor, and asked her to call Tunde so that I could speak to him to get final resolution and she refused. I asked her to see my original receiot and it clearly states that you can return shoes within 30 days of purchase with receipt, I showed this to her. She then pulled out from behind the counter and not in clear display a "policy" stating that you can not exchange "worn" shoes. I explained the detail account and advised her I had been told twice that the boots qualify for exchange. She said when she noticed they were worn that she decided not to exchange and that the original rep that served me was "new". The management is rude, unorganized, nonresponsive and unknowledgable about their own policy and products!!


Dont waste your money or time, the shoes may look nice but you won't get your money worth or quality here!!! Unfortunately, I could not be helped, but let this help you! Knowledge is Power!
