On Nov 2nd 2010 I joined a credit consolidation group that was supposed to help me with my credit card debts. On 12/3/2010 they took out $300.00from my account to get started. I heard nothing.after calling they said they were going to get started.Still I am getting calls form my creditors,and no the creditors had not been contacted.When I would call Iwould ask for the contract and finally I got the right customer service person on 1/17/2011 and she said she would send a copy of the contract to me.
On 1/22/2011 Ireceived the contract and was in shock.A negotiator would contact the creditors and try to cut my charges in half.In the mean time they had taken 154.79 and 200.00 out of my account now they had $654.79 of my money.Having had the contract for three business days I cancelled on 1/26/2011 asthe contract I could cancel with no penalty.
Today I called an asked where the $500.00 was as I had already received $154.79.
Iwas told it was to late because I was passed the time for a full refund,Now how can that be since I only had the contract for onlythree Business days.I am 74yrs old and live with my daughter. I was going to use the $500.00 to pay on my credit debt.
I have also made a complaint with the BBB.I am at there mercy and I have already accepted the fact that I wont ever see the $500.00 again.I have since contacted all my credit card people and they are working with me.Thank you for any help you can give me.

| a lot of people need to read your agreements and figure out what is really going on and what they are signing up for. debt relief can be a great way to handle your debt depending on your situation and how you deal with things. if you have money ( and the people that have money know what im talking about ) this program is not for you!!! the more assets you have the more sue friendly the creditors will be my suggestion PAY YOUR DEBT!!! if you are impatient, this program is NOT for you, debt relief take times and is not going to happen overnight. if you do not have a lot a debt ie. small cc debts 1000 or under, my suggestion PAY YOUR SMALL DEBT!!! in debt relief your balances need to be deliquent, gaining late and interest fees, making balances larger than when first enrolled, the smaller the debt is the harder it is to get a good percentage that will save you money in the long run, if you are a worry wart and let phone calls and meaningless threats bother you, debt relief is not for you!!! creditors are allowed to say a lot of things just to get you to make a payment. for all the people that have complaints, look at what how you got yourself in the spot you are in, do not blame ANYONE but YOURSELF at the end of the day it has and will always be YOUR DEBT!!! |
