I was referred to Alarcon Law Office by a friend who was sucked into their skeem. I am a home owner of 15 years and fell on some hard times. I called my mortgage lender to find out what I could do. They said I could get a modification all I had to do is fill out the forms online and it would take 90 days. Well after two and a half years and no modification I was forced to file bankruptcy. A week aftermy bankruptcy court date I received a call from a friend who claimed she found a company that was going to help her keep her house. I called and spoke to a nice gentleman who seemed to empithize with my situation. I was going to make one last attempt to keep my house. The guy seemed to think even with the bankruptcy I would be able to keep the house with a modification. I pondered over it for a couple days and agreed to start the process. It was going to be 835.00 each month for 4 months while they negociate a modification with Citi Mortgage. I have trusted consolidated groups non profit groups over the whole two year process of trying to get the modification myself and I was hesitant to sign the contract online, but Cameron (the sales person) assured me the contract was not binding and I could stop the process at anytime. Of course my husband looked online and saw some consumer reports that stated they did not help them, so of course I am skeptical. I called Cameron the next day, it was not even 24 hours later, I told him that I was not sure and if me and mt husband were not 100% sure we cannot proceed. I told him to cancel it for now and I will get back with him. He said the quote of 835.00 was only good for 1 day and we would have to negociate a knew price after that. I told him we needed more time. I then asked if I needed to sign something and he said no, he would just tell them not to bill me. So here I am two weeks later and I get a statement from the bank for an NSF charge because they tried to take the first payment from my account. So even though I have no money and I did not loose anything other than an NSF charge, which by the way is a tank of gas for me, I feel it is my duty to report this company as a scam. DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. I think it is really sad all these so called attorney's trying to take advantage of people in hardship. I am going to report them till my fingers cannot type anymore. Please heed my warning, do not trust this law firm. |
