Al's Pizza - Sidney Ohio the rudest people I've ever encountered, poor customer service, manager abusive to customers Sidney, Ohio |

3-17-11 I placed an order for pickup at Al's. Girl on the phone was distant, seemed like she didn't want to be there. She asked for my last name like places do. I asked if I could use my first name, which is easier to get right, because I have had issues in the past with people getting my name wrong. She said she always gets it right, but had to have the last name. I said fine, spelled it out for her, and she proceeded to mispronounce it. I corrected, to which she replied in a huffy, rude manner. She said the pizza would be ready in 20 minutes or so. I arrived about 25 minutes later because I had an errand to take care of. There were six customers in line with me, and about twenty in the restaurant portion. When I got there, I saw they still had the name wrong. Okay, not the end of the world, but when I started to open the box to make sure the order was at least right, the girl at the counter swatted at my hand and said "you have to pay before you can open it". I explained that I wanted to make sure the order was right before I paid, because the name was wrong and I just wanted to be sure at least one thing was right. She sighed hard, but let me look inside. The pizza had strange black specks (not the normal kind), and what looked like saliva on the cheese (I suspect they spit in it). And none of the toppings were right. I asked to see the manager at that point. Al himself was there. He asked me if I was serious. I explained my point calmly to him, and became slightly more firm but civil, and stated that if he did not respect me enough to get my name right, I was walking and not paying for the order. Al picked up the pizzas, threw them in the kitchen, box and all, and said "fine, get the f*** out of here!" I commented that he was being a jerk as I left, and the girl at the counter said "No, you're the jerk! F*** you!" All six of the people in line behind me walked out behind me, and several of the people in the dining room looked at Al in horror. He asked her what she was looking at, then turned back to me as I was leaving and threatened me with physical harm if I ever came back. A person was getting out of his car to come into the establishment and heard him say this. That person got right back in his car and left. So did I. I will never do business with Al's Pizza ever again, at either location. Al is clearly an obnoxious jerk, and probably an abuser. From now on I will just go to Marco's - at least they apologize when they screw something up. FYI - if there are other "Al's Pizza"s out there - I am referring to the one that only has two stores in the chain in Sidney and Troy, Ohio - not to any others. |
