House of Wesley, Inc. Four Seasons Nurseries Fraudulent Business Practices PLUS Unauthorized Credit Card Charges Bloomington, Illinois |
26th of Apr, 2011 by User704838 |
I placed 2 internet orders for plants with House of Wesley, Inc. (trading as Four Seasons Nurseries) on 03/17/11 and 03/19/11. The company immediately charged my Visa card. Within days, I realized I needed to make changes to my orders so I emailed their customer service department with specific questions about the substitutions I wanted to make and asking how I could pay for the difference. All I got back from the company was form emails stating that it would take 1-2 weeks to process my request. I became frustrated and made multiple attempts to cancel my orders via email and phone over the course of almost a month. Again, I received form emails stating that my request to cancel had been forwarded to the appropriate department and that it would take 1-2 weeks to process my request. After two more weeks, I emailed the company again to request written confirmation that they had canceled my orders and a date when they would refund my credit card for the charges. The company responded with an email stating that they were unable to cancel my orders and that they were shipping them to me anyway. However, if I wanted a refund I could ship them back within 14 days from receipt of shipment. I did so yesterday (04/26/11, well within the 14 day return window), incurring yet more charges for shipping. Interestingly, I noted that the shipping labels on the packages had a different business name than the one I placed my online order with. I assume that this makes it difficult to return items within 14 days (and thus obtain a refund). I was looking at my online credit card statement today and noticed that this company fraudulently charged my card again yesterday (04/26/11). I did not authorize this transaction and I most certainly did not order additional items from them. I've canceled my credit card, disputed the charges, and reported this company to every organization I can think of. Online research (which I should have done prior to ordering from this company) revealed that my unhappy experience is one among countless others-from refusing to accept returned items and cancel orders to sending worthless merchandise, this company has a wide reputation for fraudulent business practices. They also trade under about 15 different company names. |
