Found Xtreme auto of Brighton on Craigslist when I was in need of a transmission repair while on vacation in Colorado. After speaking with Jeffrey Jolliffe and Leisa Jolliffe in regards to this repair I decided the price they offered of $650 for the repair would fit my financial needs. I verified with jeffrey at this time that everything that needed to be replaced would be included in this price. He agreed. Seeing how I was suppose to have left to return back to Minnesota I brought the van in immediately for the repair. I spoke with Jeffrey who assured me it would be done the following day which I was grateful for. The following day I waited for a phone call which I never received so I placed a call later in the day to find out the status. The van would be done shortly and I could head over and get it. Upon my arrival to pick the van up for the agreed amount of $650 the price had changed to $750 with no explanation or detailed information on the receipt which is illegal according to the Colorado state guidelines. Also, old parts replaced are to be offered to the customer according to Colorado state law. these parts were never offered to me. I left early the next morning and made my trip 950 miles to Minnesota where the transmission began to slip. Upon arrival at the nearest safe spot to take the van I found it would not go into reverse either. After several attempts to contact Jeffrey and failed "call backs" from him as promised by his "partner in crime Leisa" because of Jeffreys tooth causing him some grief, I persisted until I contacted Jeffrey. He advised me to take the van to TSI transmission out of Cottage Grove MN who has a very reputable business with the local community so I did. The warranty issued from Xtreme auto was to cover any failure for 3 years or 36,000 miles. The vehicle made it less than 24 hours and 950 miles which should give you an idea of "their idea of a rebuilt transmission as listed on receipt". Jeffrey was in contact with the owner of TSI transmission who is well aware that this was to be a warranty repair. After TSI's inspection of the transmission the conclusion was that the transmission needed to be rebuilt(again) for the sum of $3000. I relayed this message to Jeffrey who was, at this time, agreeing to pay $700 towards the repair or send me a check for $700 as reimbursement. With funds being low and not being able to come up with the other $2300 for the repair I opted to have a check sent to me to put towards the repair when the funds were available. I waited a week after verifying my address with Jeffrey. No check. After attempting several times to contact him again but only being sidelined with multiple excuses from Leisa I was starting to get a feel for the type of people I am dealing with. After several attempts I was able to get a hold of Jeffrey, Im guessing it was a fluke that he picked up the phone, and I expressed my concern as the check had not arrived. Jeffrey, at this point, felt it would be a good idea to cancel that check and send another check via express mail which would require a signature. I agreed to this. 2 weeks later no check. I contacted Jeffrey and informed him that if I did not receive a check from hime I would have no choice but to pursue legal avenues. His response was "so sue me" and the phone went dead. I contacted the BBB at this point who Xtreme auto boasts a big fat "F" rating with do to incompetent responses and failed business practices. I have forwarded all information to the Colorado state attorney for investigation into this company and its practices. I have also spoke with the Adams county Sherriff who claims to be familiar with this company and expressed his feeling of the owner being a "sociopath who has no conscience". I asked the Sherriff how a company like this can remain functional and he informed me that this company has changed their name and relocated several times do to business practices. At this point there is no use in hiring a lawyer because this company has filed bankruptcy and has no money which I feel is the whole reason I am not being paid back the money as promised by Jeffrey. The $700 he stoled from my father and I came out of the $1000 my father gets for a monthly pension, doesnt leave much to live on. Jeffrey preys on out of town people and the eldrely because he knows he and his company cannot get any lower. I do not foresee this company staying in business much longer and I will do everything in my willpower to inform people and keep them as far away from these crooks as possible. Please DO NOT USE XTREME AUTO OF BRIGHTON for any services. Thank you for listening to my experience and I hope this helps people to stay away from one corrupt business. Also, somehow, they managed to put a scratch from the front passenger door to the rear quarter of the van and broke the chrome trim off the grill. Not huge expenses since I will be able to buff the scratch out but replacing the chrome piece will add another expense to the joy of dealing with this so called "company".
