Visual Blaze, John Nichols, Name Tag
Never Completed My Project, Took Our Money
1st of Mar, 2012 by csmith
We hired John Nichols of Visual Blaze to work on a website project for us and some SEO. John at first was responsive and had no problems taking our money and setting up payments.

Then John started with "going silent". He wouldn't respond to emails, phone calls, even texts. After a few days, he would make up some excuse, always something different, and send an email is "generic update info". We never were able to see actual work milestones and we were continually told, "We're getting there".

Repeat this process over and over---no response, generic answer as to progress and this is what it is like to do business with John Nichols and Visual Blaze.

Visual Blaze is working on a new project called Name Tag. He's trying to get press on it, but as long as he is associated with it, it will be a scam.

We finally left Visual Blaze and went to a different company. John Nichols never finished our project, and we were never refunded our money that we spent. He took over $5,000 and we have nothing.

I'm not sure how he stays in business, except that people don't check references and do their research. This was our mistake.

Wow, I had a feeling he was a compulsive liar and a scammer. My husband free-lanced for him and expected him to work full time hours. John paid my husband as promised for the first few months, and then the payments became really infrequent. The first time my husband had worked for 2 weeks and then was expecting his check, John had so many over the top excuses for not having the money. My husband got paid and we hoped it was a one time issue. Then, two months later he gave my husband a check that bounced. We couldn't pay our rent and we lost our apartment. Because John has expected my husband to work 40+ hours, he wasn't able to take on anymore workload as backup. When we got the eviction notice on our home we were very lucky that my Husband was offered a job in Chicago, though we were not planing to move out of state and uproot our entire lives. I run a photography business and had to start all over again finding new clients. In the end it was a good thing, my husband works for an actual corporation with benefits that has excellent customer service, but it took a long time for us to build back up after John Nichols played with our time and trust. Being a small business owner myself, I cringe when other "entrepreneurs" scam people like this.
