My girlfriend took her 2000 Mustang to have a clutch replaced at this repair shop. Her roommate at the time was an employee and got a discount on the repair. She was unaware at the time but the car was not repaired properly. Within 3 months of her clutch being replaced we took the car back. The repair shop told me that the clutch was completely worn out. Little did they know that I know about cars and repair work on them. I explained that the pedal wasn't adjusted properly. They told me it had a hydraulic clutch not a cable clutch and that it could not be adjusted. I told them they were incorrect and it can be adjusted. They said this is a normal wear and tear item. I said that I understand that, however a clutch does not completely burnout in 3 months. In fact, my girlfriend has owned the car for several years and the clutch lasted just fine before. They said they would take the car apart and let me know what they found out. Originally they had the car for 4 days to do a repair that takes a few hours. I received a phone call within a few hours after speaking with the manager and dropping the car off. They said they would work something out if there was something other in the car that caused this problem. They also said they would send the parts out if they could be warranted. I said I wanted to see all the parts if there was a repair done and I wanted a phone call before any further repair work was done. They called me within a few hours and said they were was fixed. When I went to pick it up there was a repair bill for $750.00. Originally my girlfriend had only paid $400.00. Not only did they not work something out or try to see if they caused the original problem but they replaced everything. They wouldn't return the car unless we paid them. After I received the car and looked at the parts that were replaced they were not OEM parts. In fact they marked up aftermarket parts 200% from what they would have cost me online. When I called to complain about all this I told them they charged us for parts that were less money and they didn't even replace all the parts that the invoice stated. Within 2 days after the second repair was done the car is even worse than before! It's not operating properly at all. The car isn't doing into gear, they clutch pedal vibrates, and they car is shuttering. None of that was happening even when the previous repair work was done incorrectly. I called to complain and explain that I would turn this into a legal matter and file multiple complaints against there business. They then offered to put OEM parts in the car and give us a couple hundred dollars back. I said I would not let anyone at their repair shop touch the car again. I said to them that they only reason they are even offering us this is not to file the complaints because they know that they are caught. They are telling people they are doing the repairs and replacing all the parts and they aren't. They are also telling people they are using OEM parts and are using aftermarket parts and marking them up as well. We have already paid them $1,150.00 for a repair that the dealer would have only charged $500.00 for using OEM Ford parts. DO NOT, use Villa Park 76 gas station and repair shop for your vehicle. I have filed several complaints against them with the proper agencies. They are located in a wealthy community and taking advantage of consumers. Even people who work their have complained about the owner not paying them their paychecks on time. What a terrible business and a terrible business owner. I hope they are shut down by the Bureau of Automotive Repair and the State Attorney General by my complaints. |
