| I purchased a Great Dane puppy from Denise Kleiber and her daughter Kaitlyn S., Hampton Danes, which was advertised as limited AKC for $1200. A $300 deposit for the puppy was sent through paypal and confirmed to be received by Denise on January 8, 2011. Payment was made in full, in cash, when we picked up the puppy on March 6, 2011. To date, she has not supplied the AKC paperwork. She continues to make excuses and delay responding to my emails. The puppy was born on Dec. 30, 2010 to her dam Ruthie and sire Alex, as part of a litter of 7. She claims they are AKC registered. She sold the puppy with a health guarantee, on which she wrote a note (on March 6, 2011) stating she would mail us the AKC paperwork when she received it. She has not provided any paperwork to date, and continues to make excuses. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), which was recently closed after she refused to respond to their claim. This breeder has a wealth of bad press on the internet. She has previously sold great danes and french bulldogs under several kennel names. The ones I am aware of are: kleiber's kanines, hampton danes, revelation danes. She is also advertising her dogs on nextdaypets.com and puppyfind.com. I have most recently seen puppies from this litter on her website: and (listed under seller name Kaitlyn S. from New Rome, WI 715-952-7273) Don't be fooled by the pretty pictures and empty promises. Be sure to get the paperwork WITH the dog- do not let her get away with "sending it later" because it will never come. She continues to delay responding to my email correspondance, and has recently advertised an entirely new email address to sell the remaining puppies from this litter: [email protected] Denise is claiming to have vaccinated and wormed the litter of puppies herself. Although this may be true, it cannot be confirmed. I have contacted the veterinarian she listed as given the litter a health exam check. The clinic could not confirm having ever examined Great Dane puppies since their birth on Dec. 30, 2011. Do not trust this woman- use caution when dealing with her. She has not delivered what she has promised. |

| I purchased a puppy from this same place last July. The puppy ended up with severe HOD and had to be put down at 6 months of age. I contacted Denise and she said that the contract didn't cover HOD especially since I got the puppy vaccinated for rabies at 4 months. I wrote and told her it was illegal, and I had contacted a lawyer. She then offered me another puppy or a refund once she sold her December litter. I wrote her again last month as I had not heard from her since and today I noticed that her web site is no longer up. I am unable to contact her now. |

| I have also had an experience with Denise, although, I took an adult female instead of a puppy, just to get it off her disgusting property. Anyone buying a puppy from her should be aware that she weens the pups from mom at about 3-4 weeks. After my great dane had her litter, she was trying to send her home just 3 and 1/2 weeks after the pups were born. She is unable to produce AKC papers because the dogs are not AKC registered. She lies about where they come from and who the parents are. Please do more research before purchasing anything from this women. Complaints.com can certainly shed some light on her business sense. |

| I have a very similar story. We purchased our Dane last August. We were told that she was left because another family ended up not able to pay for her because of financial hardship. I was so excited. Let me just tell you the crap that we have been through. I ended up meeting with the daughter Kaitlyn. She seemed nice enough and all. I was told that Denise had a medical emergency that she was taking care of. I was then told that the papers would have to be mailed to me because Kaitlyn wasn't sure where her mom put them. That should have been a red flag. Well of course the Dane was so cute that I bought her on the spot. I waited and waited and no papers. In the mean time we took our dane to our vet with the scarce vet records. This was within 24 hours of acquiring our Dane. Everything seemed ok. There were a few spots on her head that I asked the vet about and they thought it could be from puppy bites. Well a week later she went back to the vet because she was pooping out worms. I have never seen that. Truly disgusting and very unsafe for my children. At this same time we find out that she has mange. I emailed the breeders only for no response. After many failed attempts at emails and voice messages left Denise responds by saying that it is our fault she has mange and that the health guarantee doesn't cover that. Plus she added that she hasn't had any complaints from other people who have purchased a puppy. We have spent the last year taking our Dane to the vet every week or every other week to get rid of the mange. One of the other things I am fairly sure of is that the AKC papers I finally received (3 weeks ago) are not for my dog. I am so glad to be reading that I am not the only person who has had this experience. I am so sorry to all the others out there. Let's keep her from continuing her business. Keep spreading the word about her fraud. |
