in March 2011 i used US Search web site for one time basic search the fee was $2.90 I read conditions carefully, I declined extensive serach and other offers.
I got 1 line vrly poor information, nothing much more that I put in a search field.That was the one and only time I used the site and their service. Only to notice recently I got chaged every single month $19.95.
I called their 1800 877 3272 number and spoke with Kristina #8203 operator.
completelly unvilling to help and ignorant to what is going on. She mentioned I got e mail confirming my subscription which is compltelly fabricated. Today after my complaint I received the 2nd e mail from them -the first one was their 1 line serach result.

This web site is a scam and is to bad we don't have better regulated internet. with the name as US search you expect legit goverment operated data based companuy, not a scam.

I'm still fighting with them to get my monney back, if you have any of your own experiences how to proceed about it, I'll appreciate the tip,

I just had the same thing happen to me. I was wondering if you have made any progress with getting your money back. They are "closed" right now so i haven't been able to call their office yet.

Paid for 2 searches yesterday, found an additional 19.95 billed to my card this morning, called the office this morning, they were closed, so I just called back (12:30 Central time) was told by Lance (very Indian accent) that the system was down, he could not help me cancel my membership, but I should call back in 5 or 6 hours (which would have put me very close to the end of the 2 day cancellation period). I told him that was unacceptable, asked for a Supervisor, and Felicia (supervisor) cancelled my membership immediately. Funny how quick the system came back up. She said I would see a refund within 3-5 business days. I was given a confirmation number and told that I would automatically receive an email confirming the cancellation. I'll keep an eye on it.
