Jon the manager is a lying SOB who will defraud you out of your deposit and act like he is interested in Hiring you part time just to get you to rent. He called me from an application I filled a year ago and offered me $15 an hour - that's a good part time job. Then he made me rent from him before i was able to work for him and even took part of my deposit. We discussed details of employment at the interview, and I told him I was interested in the high hourly rate that he offered. I am still employed, but needed an extra income. I took 3 weeks arraigning my schedule to fit his part time requirements. After he saw I was interested in employment, and after I told him I was ready to start working, he told me I had to move in BEFORE I started working there! (which was not in short term plans - however i did inquire about renting at one point) I was not at all prepared to move in at that moment - just to fill a part time position. There were many units available and I feel that he used the employment opportunity to get my rental business. I kept asking when I can start work, He stated many times that I am not an employee for him yet and said I had to move in first. I explained that I may move in after the income was built up from working for him to get the funds for the deposit. Then He refused to let me start working unless I was a tenant. In desperation for the job I tried to come up with the deposit as I am living week to week supporting 3 kids. I gave a deposit minus $400 and tried to explain that I needed more time to come up with the $400. He then stated that I was wasting HIS time - insensitive to the fact that the original offer was for employment only. He ended up keeping part of the deposit and claimed that I wasted his time - when in fact the only one who suffered wasted time and wasted hours from work was me. I rearranged my employment to work from home, borrowed money for the deposit, and lost a week of work trying to accommodate a move - just to get the job - then he kept part of the deposit. The original plans we discussed were to work part time - so I can save money and then rent if I decided to live there. His used the notion of getting hired starting at $15 an hour - just to get me to rent. We had no signatures nor was there was anything stated verbally or in writing that I would loose any amount of the deposit if I canceled - yet I didn't even cancel, I asked for more time. HE IS A SCAM!! For renters: Beware, this apt is scheduled to be tore down in a years time (if it does not collapse first), and is one of the most disgusting apartments I have ever seen. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMING LIARS. HE WILL FIND ANY PATHETIC WAY TO MAKE MONEY ON THIS DECREPIT BUILDING THAT SHOULD BE CONDEMNED. The deposits are also FAR TOO high for whats its worth. |
