Milford Spice Company Massive Marketing Campaign Goes Bust , Internet |
5th of May, 2011 by User516580 |
I took advantage of a groupon deal as many across the U.S. probably did. Purchased a $30 voucher for $15 and placed my order. Over 5 weeks later I still have not received my order and the company does not respond to emails or phone calls. I can't find a place to write a poor review either. Do not buy a groupon with this company. |

Beware!!! Laura Stearnes, of Millford Spice company is a recent 2 time convicted felon out of Denver, Colorado. She found some poor fool on the internet and ripped him off for over 80k in a mortgage scandal with some others. She pled guilty to felony theft in what appears to have been a plea deal, because she was charged with several serious crimes. I'm investigating her other crimes and will post more as soon as I find out more. I never recieved my $30 shippment for $15 from this company and should have done my homework before. I've cancelled the credit card I used just in case. |

I have had the same experience. I bought the Groupon in March 2011 and used i t in Sept. 2011. I got an email two weeks later saying there was a problem with too many orders, not enough product bla bla bla. Based on other complaint sites, this is the same excuses given in May, June, July, August. How many times can you hire and move business? This was fraud from the beginning. Emails are "read" via a read receipt but not answered. I have emailed every single email on site. I can get my credit card to refund part of this but the Groupon is another problem. 7 months plus of this bull and now I am contacting the state attorney general of Michigan and posting this to my blogs AND Facebook. Fraud will not be tolerated! |

This continues into 2012. weeks and weeks waiting and no response to e-mails. |

Laura Stearnes, owner of the Milford Spice Company in Milford, Michigan, is no stranger to illegal activity. She has been arrested as recently as Sept 14, 2011 in Grand Rapids, MI - her mugshot can be found on JailBase.com or Google Images (reason for the arrest is unknown).
In Colorado, 2009, she was found guilty for an internet dating swindle of over $80, 000:
ONLINE ARTICLE - "The Colorado Division of Real Estate announced today it has revoked the license of two mortgage brokers, and ordered them to pay a total of $94, 000 in fines.
Stephen Benaske and Laura Stearnes, swindled a Michigan doctor through an Internet dating service, according to the division.
The division permanently revoked the license of Benaske and ordered him to pay the victim $24, 000.00.
The division asserts that Benanske, in concert with mortgage broker, Laura Stearnes, mis-allocated loan proceeds.
Using an Internet dating service, Stearnes met a Michigan medical doctor, and convinced him to refinance his home, according to the division.
Stearnes improperly instructed the title insurance company to divert the loan proceeds totaling more than $80, 000 to Benaske’s bank account, the division says.
According to bank statements, it appears that the pair spent the vast majority of the ill-gotten funds in less than 10 days without the knowledge or consent of the borrower, according to the division.
The Division of Real Estate revoked Stearnes’s mortgage broker license eight months ago in addition to ordering $70, 000 in restitution to the Michigan doctor..." |

I wish I would have got more information on this company before buying anything from them. I also took advantage of a Groupon deal. I placed an order on 3/24/12. My account has been charged and I have yet to get any information on when my order will be shipped out. I have sent a couple of messages through the company's website and have even called and left messages. I have read similar complaints and seems this has been going on since May of last year maybe more. I guess I can forget about my order. I am not happy about it but I am happy I didn't spend more than $15. |

It doesn't get better. Maybe it's time for all of us who have been scammed by this company to go to the Mi BBB maybe they'll shut this place down before more people lose their money. We can't be alone. |

Damn...maybe I should cancel my charge card that I used to buy from Milford Spice. |

Received a groupon certificate for this company as an Easter gift. I redeemed it right away, and have yet to receive my order. My order was placed on 3/28. On 4/14 I got an email saying they were overwhelmed (seems to be their MO) and would ship as soon as possible. I just sent an email thru their website. Not expecting to get my spices ever. Will have the purchaser dispute thru groupon & hope she gets her money back. What a shame. |

Looks like she has been arrested again:

This time for theft. Not sure if it is related to Milford Spice or not.
I placed an order with Milford back in March and still have not received the order. Same ol' song and dance - they are supposedly overwhelmed by the Groupon response, yadda yadda. |

Should anyone want to meet this lady who stole your money, she is currently running her theft operation at 4844 Old Plank Rd in Milford MI. While your there you can meet the other criminals swindling their own scam with Laura. How is she not in jail? She wrote our company a check that bounced and coasted $280 in fees for insufficient funds. I know her boyfriend who she put in jail comes out soon. I wonder where his first visit will be.
She is the Devil! |
