I had a residential move from one apartment to another which was a distance of 8 miles. I moved a bed, a wooden bookshelf (weighed approx 50lbs), an entertainment center (which was 3 pieces, 1 large, 2 small), about 30 boxes, two 25 inch TVs and a queen sized bed with was on a light metal frame. The office personnel were professional, courteous, and I liked them. The moving crew, however, was awful. The nightmare began when they showed up (on time) and nobody spoke English. The foreman took a walk through the apartment, I showed him everything that was to be moved. He appeared to understand. It later became clear that he did not. The other 2 guys came in to start moving and at first I was impressed with how quickly they moved my boxes. They really did SEEM to know what they were doing. The part where this move goes bad is when they took the glass doors off of my entertainment center and just left them at the old apartment. They also removed 3 of the 6 small shelves (18 inches by 12 inches) off of my bookshelf, taped them together, and also left them at the old apartment. In fact, they left SO MUCH at my old apartment that I had to go back 16 times with my Honda Accord to pick up everything they had left behind. It made me wonder what I paid them for. I did most of the moving myself. they had tons of packing supplies with them but did not use them. They left my coffee table, my microwave, about 10 packed boxes that were ready to go, shelves from my bookshelf, glass doors from the entertainment center, my entire stereo, 2 DVD players and TONS of other stuff. It was RIDICULOUS. I emailed the office people and they gave me a 10% refund for my inconvenience. I thought that was nice but it did not compensate for the fact that my bookshelf was ruined and can no longer be used. They lost the pins that hold the shelves in place. Same goes for the entertainment center. I can no longer attach the glass doors. The part of this that REALLY makes me mad is the foreman made me sign the forms saying everything was delivered correctly BEFORE they would unload the truck. I tried to explain to him that I needed to SEE everything before blindly agreeing that they had delivered everything without damages. He would not let them unload the truck before I signed his form. I should have known right then and there that there was going to be a problem. I emailed the office several times, but after they gave me a $39.00 refund they were done dealing with me. I got no response when I asked about my now broken, useless, bookshelf and my entertainment center. Those guys literally removed everything and just left it all over the floor of the old apartment. When I went back, I never did find what they did with the pieces needed to reassemble everything. I would not recommend this company to anyone because it is completely unethical to force someone to agree in writing that their items were delivered correctly without allowing them to first inspect everything. They destroyed my bookshelf, which by the way, was only about 40 inches tall and weighed maybe 50lbs. It was 9 little cubes, 3 of which they destroyed. |

There is an old Chinese proverb about cheap furniture: Move once, buy twice. |
