When I looked online to find a reputable attorney I came across a company called Ticketbust. The sales pitch I got was that they have a 99% success rate and a money back guarantee. I signed up with the company to reduce or eliminate a right turn camera/red light ticket I got. They claimed they would beat my red light ticket, they told me that with the circumstances, and the information I provided that they absolutly could get the ticket voided. They had on their site a bunch of fabricated testimonials. A day before going to court I had to call to find out what I was supposed to do and then received a copy of a generic list of defense statements, and was told to pick three and plead them to the court. Before any case was heard, the court went down a laundry list of statements, by the charging officer, that responded to and nullified every one of the defense statements provided by Ticketbust. I contacted ticketbust once I left the courthouse and the secretary informed me that I was eligible for refund. I then called them back after being found guilty again to inquire about my refund. No problem they said -fill out this form and send it back. Then a few days later I received a notice from ticketbust stating I wasn't eligible for refund due to some time loophole. I was blamed for the delay between the date of the TR 220 and the date the court mailed the form to me. What difference does it make that I sent you paperwork in ten days , or twelve. This company refused to honor its agreement using the court delay as an excuse not to honor its refund. What I have learned is that you either can file the same papers yourself or just accept the ticket. In the end you save money and time! This company lives out of our fear and defrauds us by giving verbal assurances over the phone to entice a decision to give them money alleging that they are capable to help them – which they are not. All they do is provide you with the handling of your paperwork in filing what is needed to fight a case with representation with the hopes of the officer not showing up, which in the case of a red light ticket there's a designated chp officer that works all these cases for the for the court and you can best believe he WILL be there. They informed me that I had to send them the paperwork from that guilty verdict, which I had just recieved in the mail. I went personally to the court and got a trial date. I personally went to court to defend my case. This service does not provide you with a lawyer. This service is nothting other a document processing service. Their claim of success rate is A LIE and refund policy is a FRAUD. In the event you are lucky enough to have nobody respond, or the officer not show up i court, then you can win. I do not recommend anyone to use these types of services, either do it yourself, hire a lawyer or pay the ticket! For that price find a lawyer that will show up at your court date!
