On July 15, 2011 i signed a contract with this law firm group and services would not start until the first payment received on August 1st, 2011 . The contract states that if i wished to terminate the contract i would have to do it by letter through the mail, and if i wanted to cancel the payment it would need to be done at least 5 days prior to the payment being deducted from the account. On July 18, 2011 I wrote and sent a letter through the post office certified mail so that i could guarantee receipt by the company. I sent two letters, one to the corporate office in Chicago and one to the satellite office in Arizona which both were accepted on July 22, 2011 nine days prior to payment. In the letter I expressed that I no longer wanted their services and would like the contract terminated. I also stated that because my decision was well before the 5 days prior to payment that they were not authorized to remove any money from my bank account and that since no services were done on their behalf they should not be charging me for any work done either. On August 1, 2011 i checked my bank account and the money was processed through my bank account i tried to have the bank stop the payment but it was too late. On August 2, 2011 i called the law firm and the guy i talked to did confirm that he received my letter and would contact through email the accounting firm in chicago to issue my refund. I did not hear anything in terms of confirmation so i called again. On August 5, 2011 i spoke to another person and he stated he would contact accounting through email to have my refund processed, he also stated to give him a few days for the process to take effect and they would contact me with confirmation. I waited an entire week and heard nothing. I called again on August 11, 2011 and spoke with a someone else she made sure i took down her name and extension and she wrote an extensive email to accounting detailing my issue. i asked when should i hear something back from them she told me to call her back at her extension in 24hrs. I spent the next two days calling multiple times and no one ever answered at the extension provided. Then I called today on August 15, 2011 and i expressed my anger with the run around i was getting and told them that if i did not receive my refund within 24hrs i will be seeking legal action. They transferred my call to someone who they said is the one who will resolve this issue and of course he did not answer and i had to leave a voicemail. This company is terrible and will take your money right under your feet!!! |
