T Mobile T-Mobile Does not refund deposit automatically, contradiction between website and service agreement Bellevue, Washington
23rd of Mar, 2011 by User882870
I have recently canceled my T-Mobile account for many reasons. What pushed me over the edge though was an experience I had with my deposit. According to T-Mobile's main website (and the agreement I understood when I joined): You get your deposit back automatically, and do not need to call in to get it. You can see this at

The person I called at the customer support center said as much as well! Section 13 at

http://img861.imageshack.us/img861/7688/deposit2.jpg Naturally, as I was already suspicious of their business practices when I canceled, I stopped my autopay. Sure enough there was a double charge at the end of my bill. But wait: could this just a bill thats a month late? If I trusted them I would simply have sent the payment in, but right now I am waiting for PROOF that its simply not a double billing in the form of all of my statements, which they should easily be able to provide. Of course, this is really not the main point of this report, just one fragment of what I am doing to try and change this policy. One of the issues I may have though is a letter I sent in. After sending it in and reading a bit, I might have a small statement in there that might be considered 'blackmail' (with only a small technicality), so just to make sure I take that aspect of it out, here is the letter which removes any possible result from them sending me information. http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/9963/lettertotmobile.jpg I am fairly certain they have already sent my tiny amount (around $35) to collections without sending me proof though, so likely they simply tossed the letter anyway. Will this inconvenience me? Oh surely it will. Hopefully it inconveniences them as well though, and even more hopefully they change their sneaky policy!
