T-mobile ,Cell phone provier, T-mobile over the phone push-button sign up/agreement is exploitative & deceptive, wrongly used to hook up customer Int
5th of Dec, 2011 by User194493
I have been a customer for five years, my t-mobile phone bills is $63.29 for unlimited talk and 300 text monthly. I saw a t-mobile internet advert at $49.99 for unlimited web, talk and texts(for two lines)

I thought this is a good offer, its time to save, times are hard. I called T-mobile to speak with a rep. After a protracted negotiation to help get my bill reduced based on the fact that I have been a loyal customer for 5 years, and its only fair if I could take advantage of a good. offer.

I was then tranfered to the loyalty dept by the attending rep who politely states that only the loyalty dept can approve this. The man at the loyalty department carefully listen to my concern and offered to reduce my bill even to $45 per month for unlimited data, talk and text.

I repeated to him what he said. "You could do it for $45 per month?" And he answered "Yes". That gave me some relief, happy.

Now the crux of the matter: This loyalty department man then said I would have to listen to my phone for a recorded statement and push the button to agree to a 2yr agreement before he could go ahead and complete the offer. I was not on agreement before now.

He told me evrything was in order and I could go ahead and enjoy the services. However, I followed up by checking my T-mobile account few hours later and found out what I am getting is not what I agrred to, the loyalty man did not do what he told me.

My internet account shows my service plan is for $49.99 (Not $45) and covering unlimited talk, text, and only 200 MB of data(And extra $1.99 per MB used above 200).

I called t-mobile three times to complain, and nobody seem to see any wrongdoing. The last person I spoke with told me he couldn't do anything but to charge me more to get the right value.

He said I could not get out of the agreement once I push the button, actually disconnected me before I could finish my argument.

This is exploitation, and taking advantage of privileges to complete business transaction over the phone. It is a scam method used to get customer based on my explanation. He could be anybody.

Note, I have never conplained or owe t-mobile for their services in 5years. So I am not just making this up. My motive was to save money but instead paying more, and deprived of the chance to switch to a different provider that could provide me with a better value.
