| I was trying to get my present mortgage refinanced with surepoint , for a lower rate , at first the response from the company and my advisor assigned to me charlie mcdonough was great , but than there were issues of him being constant with communicating what was going on , he wasn,t available or abswering e-mails , I had to contact the company about the problem and it was corrected , than came the next step , an upfront fee for the appraisal to be done , I protested it because I don,t like paying for upfront fees before the service is completed and wanted this process done at time of settlement , however I was told that they no longer offer that option now any where , so I got a money order for the amount of four hundred dollars and was given an address of american appraisal grp to send it , it went to prescott arizona where the appraiser came from , They called me and arranged a time and date for Mr . Bevilacqua to come out , and he did several weeks ago on saturday , he wasn,t here very long and had little to say as he walked around my property , took pictures , and I asked about my copy of the appraisal , he seemed very arrogant responding that this was the lenders appraisal , which I did not appreciate , it was my four hundred dollars , not the lenders money , I did receive my copy upon request from my advisor , the appraisal came in that monday , and my advisor was not happy , apparently Mr Bevilacqua , gave me credits for some things but neglected to add other important factors in his report , he also did not find a reasonable comparable to my home in this area and did not extend his search to do so , he just settled for what was here and went with that , having not been compared to the same as , my property than came in very low , therefore putting a halt to this process . I have not been able to contact my advisor charlie Mcdonough since , no one responds to my calls or e-mails , I know he was not happy with the appraisers report , but still with no information communicated I don,t know where I stand at this point , I tried contacti ng Mr Bevilacqua , with an e-amil myself , to see if he would take a second search and find a home more comparable to mine but his site seemed to unapproachable and of course that went no where . I want to be clear that I am not a person who is just unhappy because their property was valued for less than what they thought it would be this is about fairness , and giving a person a fair and decent service for their money . Maybe four hundred dollars is nothing to these people but that is two weeks pay for me , and I am trying to save myself money that is why I was refinancing These appraisers going out there right now especially making big bucks charging people this kind of money daily , and turning in false reports should be stopped , For what I seen done it certainly by no means deserves that kind of money someone needs to regulate this kind of behavior and put a stop to it , I had my home paid for in 2008 , and needed a mortgage at that time , everything went thru quickly and without incident even though the company than went under , the rates were higher also , during that time and since I made improvements and alot more land was added into this proposal for refinancing, so I figure even if I had not gained nothing by it all I should have come out about the same as before . Instead it was way below , to me something isn,t righ with that picture ,This has been a terrible experience for me and one that has let me feeling like its been a scam , no one responding to you to talk about anything , the money sent up front , and nothing fulfilled , surepoint advertises that they will help you find someone even if they can,t do anything for you well its all false , I can not see how any of this kind of practice can bring our country back on track . If this report does anything I would hope that it at least can bring attention to these kind of incidents going on and shut these people or their businesses down . |
