Subco Inc. I have been trying to cancel a subscription for magazine Fresno, California |
2nd of Nov, 2011 by User305516 |
Months ago my credit card company calls me and says I am offered a free trial of magazines US weekly and Women's Day. I said I really wasn't interested. US weekly then starts sending me magazines. I tried repeatedly to cancel this magazine for months now and nothing has been taken I have tried numerous times and got no where fast. Either I lose the connection on the telephone or I get called repeatedly to ask if I have received my magazines in a timely fashion or if they were ripped. I have repeatedly told the company I want to cancel. Just like the person who was sent the Maxim magazines I have been told the same exact thing. I contacted Women's Day and they told me that they can't do anything it was Subco who did this and to contact them so they can cancel. I don't get how these companies could get away with it. If I had a subscription for two or three years the company wants 1,500 dollars for the magazine. 49.95 a month are you kidding me. For once I want them to leave me alone and stop sending me magazines I don't want and don't read and can't even afford. I've gotten the runaround from this company and just want to stop being billed. I thought this was all taken care of when I received one of the magazines that said this is your last issue unless you want to renew. I never said I wanted to renew and never contacted anyone to renew. I had then stopped getting the Us weekly for a number of weeks so I thought everything was handled and out of nowhere I started getting them again. Then a few weeks later I started also receiving Woman's Day. This is so frustrating and I want this to be resolved. |

Our home has been receiving unwanted magazines for a while. The first one was Star Weekly which I don't appreciate in our Christ centered home (we have 4 children). The latest is Maxim, so you can understand my anger when these magazines appear with mostly naked women and provocative photos and literature in our home! I called Maxim, and they agreed to not send any more, but they then referred me to a company called Subco, ph# 800-258-3350. I called them and they agreed to list me on the do not contact or mail list (we'll see if that works), and they only knew about Maxim and none of the other types of magazines I've received. I asked Subco how they received my information and they referred me to a company called Magazine Exchange Club at 877-318-9601. So I then called them and they could pull nothing up under my name (hm). I guess my next step is to look through all my credit card bills and find out if I'm being charged for any magazines and what the name of the company is that's doing this. I'm very frustrated, to say the least, as it's been several types of magazines that began probably over 2 years ago and will not stop. |
