I requested a quote from Studio Chic Design based on my
specific specifications I was quoted a price and after paying was informed that
my price didn't include any of the things that I had originally asked for
and that I would have to pay more to get
things that I had originally requested a quote for in the first place.
I was told by the designer that she didn't have WORD so
was unable to look at my specifications this was done after the fact weeks
later I believe that I have been
scammed by this designer I have been waiting for my finished product since Nov
and it is now Jan and the project has yet to be completed and was just left
unfinished.
Studio Chic Design
gave me a half finished product and promised to finish it my original specification on Dec.
20th I have since been waiting and have
contacted the designer on numerous occasions and she has not returned any of my
correspondence and has not made any further corrections to the unfinished
project that she left me with I
contacted her to let her know that I would like her to finish what she has
started or refund my money so that I may find a new designer.
I explained the importance of this design to her and that
fact that my page needed to be done to certain specifications I have a host of
time waiting for her to complete this costing me the ability to attract
advertisers because of the lack of functionality with the site that she has left
me with.

| Now she has 9 complaints with the BBB, giving her an 'F' rating, and her website is dead. I bet she's starting up yet ANOTHER business name to continue her scams with. |

Me TOO ! This is so disheartening :( We ALL need to do something ABOUT THIS NOW ! I started my relationship with Dionne in 2008 on Etsy . At that time she was WONDERFUL to deal with. She created many GREAT products for me to grow my business. She had a SUPER personality and was easy to deal with. She created over 25 items for me and I was ALWAYS HAPPY with the end result !
I then contacted here via Etsy in September of 2011 to create a new logo, business cards and a web site. I paid for my products upfront in full (as I had always done with out a problem). We completed the new logo design and began the web site. Everything was moving along until August 2012, when I stopped hear from her. I have send about 35 emails with NO RESPONSE.
I filed a BBB claim in Jan/Feb 2013 and FINALLY received an email back from her stating,
"I just saw the BBB claim. I haven't been over there yet but will respond as soon as I can. I'm in the process of sending out refunds because I got soo wayyyy behind. I have a few others before you but hope to be able to send it within a few weeks. My apologies for this as I meant no harm. Just had some personal issues, got behind and wasn't able to fully catch up. I know it looks like I tried to scam you but that is absolutely not the case. I am a good person and intend to make this up. I'll contact you in the coming weeks with info on how to send the refund. Probably via paypal or I'll send a check. Thanks Dionne"
I have not heard anything from her at this point ( with 3 emails sent in response to above). VERY VERY UPSET about this whole thing !
If anyone had any information, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I will do the same in return !

OliverMolly, contact your credit card company to see what they can do. I suspect that with the level of conning that is going on now, that this goes beyond BBB resolution and should now be treated as a criminal issue. I would strongly suggest contacting the police at this point. Don't let this drag out. Hit her as fast as you can any way possible. The longer she stalls, the less chance you have of getting your money back. Somebody who goes through business names like kleenex isn't 'getting behind and trying to catch up' she is running to set up a new con.
Dionne Broughton has been clever in not giving out her personal information, such as address or phone number, but she shouldn't be that difficult to find, even though she keeps finding new names to hide under. She and her family, mother Phyllis Broughton and sister Tiffany Broughton, are based out of Georgia. She sells a product line called Pure Intox at 1250 Caroline Street, Suite C120, Atlanta, GA, 30307. Online searches show that she has lived in Atlanta, Marietta and Austell Georgia.

If nothing else, then the fact that she is out there doing work for people under a new name, while claiming to be too far behind to do your and other people`s work, should let you know exactly what is going on. I hope that POS burns in hell. |

| I just got scammed by Dionne... she dragged out etsy and Paypal deadlines so I lost my money. I didn't even know her name until I got the Paypal receipt with her name on it. I Googled it only after I started having issues. Of course I paid upfront. Her Esty shop right now is : https://www.etsy.com/people/UrbanCreativeStudio she is calling herself "DeeDee"... what I nightmare. I just filed a report on "ripoffreport.com" . I just posted it... It should be uploaded in a few hours the site said. After reading other stories...It's like reading exactly what I went through. |
