Recently, we came across a report from a former Singsnap member who was harassed in private messages. They were told they were "of no use" to Singsnap because they had a free account only and did not pay for any upgrades. This member was told if they did NOT fork over money and upgrade their account within 6 months, they would be thrown off the site and banned. This is extortion folks. Please read the story yourself below. Sarah-Jane Stubbs 04/16/2011 I was a blue member on singsnap for three months and let me tell you from my experience, you only last on this site if you join gold members cliques seriously! Within six weeks of me being a member I got a pm from SingSnap Support stating my membership wouldnn't be worth anything, under threat and like a waste of time if I didn't start making friends with gold members instead of just singing and being judged as a loner by SingSnap! Yes singsnap was judging me just because I only was using this site to make recordings, isn't that the point though of a singing site and it also said how do you expect views and comments if you don't make yourself known by joining a group of gold members! This was said in a private message by singsnap support, not just by a singsnap member, the actual site was threatening my membership all on wether I joined a gold memberships group with the next six weeks or my account isn't active anymore! I bet you have never heard of that kind of experience before. Any-way I replied asking what was going on with the sudden threats of my membership and they never even replied to explain the situation. A couple of weeks later, SingSnap staff were harrassing me saying I wasn't any use to them any-way as I to them couldn't afford a full membership so I wasn't good enough for them and the GOLD members and they knew this because there had been a big meeting between SingSnap Support and the staff! I couldn't believe my eyes and I replied threatening to tell other members on singsnap about their threatening messages and the evidence and minutes later it came up my account had been suspended! I nearly punched the computer I was so angry". We have heard quite a bit about Singsnap, the staff, the volunteers and the owner himself Trevor McGuire. Extorting money out of blue members by threatening them through private communication is the lowest of lows. Just when we think we've heard it all, something else happens. Nothing shocks us anymore.

What on earth are you talking about?
I have been a member at Singsnap since December 2010. I have 3 accounts on Singsnap..and all of them have been "Free accounts" at one or other time. I have NEVER experienced any of what you say. I also sponsor 2 people (so that they are no longer free but paid accounts) All of the members I sponsor, have been happy members even when on free accounts. I sponsor people who I believe have talent (so that they get access to a larger catalogue of songs) or if they can't afford it.
Trevor also has an active sponsorship programme too. There is NO descrimination between the two categories. I've seen Trevor feature "free" members in the spotlight window (that's a big deal for some on Singsnaap!)
So please, whoever you are, cut the c**p and stop spewing junk. What was it really? Didn't you come first in a competition or something? This is all lies!
I have found ALL the Singsnap Staff helpful pleasant and polite. I have NEVER been threatened or approached in the manner that you suggest. Nor have I heard of any other member experienceing this
I particularly found the staff efficient with their help, even though out time zones clash (I'm in London and they are in the US/Canada.
Please stop this slanderous vendetta.
