Heather Claus heatherclaus.com Website developer scam artist, stuck me for $2400. Took money and refused to do work or even return phone calls and ema

Searching for company to revamp our website and do some SEO, we found Heather Claus through www.designquote.net which is not affiliated with Mrs. Claus. When we talked with her she had a very nice demeanor and helpful attitude. So we decided to contract with her even thought her price was a little higher than others. Simply put, she talked a good game. We sent her a check for an initial payment of $1200 to start work and gave her complete access to all our web host passwords and data files. After 3 weeks she presented us with a 1 page, non-functioning mock up template. This was a slow pace but being that we have a large website with a lot of technical data it was not unexpected. So, as per our contract we sent a second payment of $1200 which was to be all that was due until the project was complete. For 6 weeks thereafter we heard nothing except a few brief emails stating that the project was moving along. Finally after many un-returned phone calls and emails Heather called to say that she was waiting for more data from us and that it was our fault that the project had been delayed. We had never received any request for further data and by the end of the conversation she said it was not necessary anyway. It has now been 4 and 1/2 months for a project that was supposed to be to be complete in 6 weeks. We have had no correspondence from Heather or any of her staff in over a month. Phone calls to her office 347-470-4365 are never returned, even her personal cell phone 910-538-8901 goes unanswered, emails are never returned and we have no web site. Furthermore she has locked us out of the content management system that was being used to develop the site which means that even if any work was done, we cannot access it or move it to a different system to have someone else complete the project. This woman talks a good game and will make you feel all nice and comfortable but don't buy it for a second. Once she has your money, you will get lots of excuses and then she becomes unreachable. Now we are forced to spend more money on attorneys to see if we can get our funds back. We also intend to file a criminal complaint. Chances are this is not the first time she has done this so we have little faith we will see anything happen to her. Beware of Heather Claus and all of her alias web sites! http://www.heatherclaus.com
