Service Net Warranty, LLC ,will screw you out of your fulfilling warranty, Jeffersonville, Indiana
18th of Mar, 2013 by User196231
I purchased a Sony Vaio two years ago this month. With the extended warranty plan that I bought, the total came out to about $1,200. A while later, I noticed that the speaker by the keyboard was popping up. I called in to have this repaired and this is where the story/time line starts. Immediately, I realized it was an awful idea to purchase my computer from
Sony. I spoke with someone and then was told to call back the following day. I did and...they had no record of me, my phone number..any of that good stuff! So finally, after getting all of that figured out, I get a call from the repair center saying that the repair is so expensive that they are just going to send me a check for $2,000 because "that is what my computer is valued at." Me, being the honest person that I am (and later I regret this decision when I get completely screwed by them HA) tell the company what I paid and they decide to just fix my computer and send it back (instead of giving me an extra $800). SO--about a year later, before my warranty runs up, I find some issues with the fan in my computer because it is running extremely hot. I call and speak to someone who tells me that I can do an update over the phone that will fix this issue..? So I tell him I will call back because my computer is not close by. I call back the following day and...SUPRISE! That representative had no idea what he was talking about. So, Sony precedes to ship me a pre-paid box. I receive it and ship my computer off (this is the 14th of February). About a week later (21st), I get an email saying my computer has safely arrived in Laredo TX. Four days later (25th) I get the same email..? followed by an estimate email of $200 for fixing my computer. I'm utterly confused, so I call them. They give me the number to the Extended Warranty office, so I call. I get a nice gentleman who tells me that he has no record of any activity on my account since last year (when I sent my computer in for the speaker). Then he precedes to tell me that I only have $17 dollars left on my extended warranty BECAUSE THEY USED ALL THE MONEY TO REPAIR MY SPEAKER so he is "not sure why they sent me a box in the first place." He then tells me he
is going to speak with his supervisor and puts me on hold. He comes back with great news! His supervisor told him that they will cover the costs because I should have been notified of this before I sent my computer in. He sets me up a NEW CLAIM and gives me the number. He then tells me all I need to do is call the repair center in the next few days to find out when I will be shipped back my repaired computer. He apologizes for the inconvenience and tells me to have a great day. [KEEP IN MIND, during this span on time..I am enrolled in five college courses (one of which I must post on a discussion board) and am computer-less. I was told it would only be a week from the 14th that my computer would be gone...] SO! I call them a few days later (it's now the 28th) and they tell me that I need to call the Extended Warranty department back. I call and speak to a lady who tells me that this claim is being processed and that I should call back on Monday and "they would know for sure if it would be covered or not." I receive a voice-mail(it is now the 4th) saying that my computer WILL BE COVERED and that I just need to call the repair center and see when it will be shipped back. I'm so glad all the confusion is finally over! I call the repair center and am told, you're never going to believe this, THAT THEY RECIEVED AN email on the 28th FROM THE EXTENDED WARRANTY CENTER to send my computer back!!!!!! LIKE SERIOUSLY?! At this point, I'm livid. I had spent so much time on hold, being told different/contradicting information, and being flat out LIED to that I was done. I called the warranty center and demanded a superior. I was given to a lady named Tracy who was extremely nice and helpful. She told me she was very confused with the situation as I told her how frustrated and unhappy I really was. She sent some emails out and told me to wait a few days and I would know. I hadn't heard from her so I called back after a few days and she told me that she would know by the end of the business day if it would be covered or not. On the 8th I receive a voice-mail from her stating that they will not cover my computer and that it does not matter that I received a voice-mail saying that I would, it was not their problem. HA, CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? So If I could have just screwed Sony by being a liar, I could have avoided this and my computer would be perfectly fine right now......
